Plain and simple, as my title says, Anderson Simmons is the best there is at defending against junk debt buyers. I hired him on three separate occasions after being served with lawsuits from them. He forced two into dropping their suits early- one actually folded upon receiving word that Andy was representing me. The third he fought tooth and nail all the way to trial and trapped the opposing attorney into making a complete fool of himself to the court. He was unrelenting and was even awarded sanctions for exposing their misconduct with discovery rules and procedures. Needless to say we won but he was not done yet. He subsequently filed a lawsuit on my behalf for FDCPA violations against the debt buying company that initially sued me and I was awarded more than what I had originally stated that I would settle for. That was a happy day!

I contacted Andy for help with dealing with a collection firm that had sued me over an alleged debt. This company was using a lot of intimidation tactics to try to get me to pay them, and all the while would not provide any proof that I actually owed them anything. Having never dealt with this sort of situation before, I checked many sites (including avvo.com) for a good attorney. After seeing many reviews, I decided to get help from Andy. After meeting with Andy, he advised me of my rights and options under the law, as well as told me about many of the various intimidation tactics he's seen used on various people by collection agencies over the years, and let me know that what I experienced with my particular situation was actually in-line with what he's seen in the past. It put me at ease to know that I had someone on my side with experience with this sort of thing. He then devised an effective strategy to fight the collection agency, and ultimately was successful in getting a judgement in my favor. Having no legal education whatsoever, I am fairly confident that if I had not had Andy on my side, and that if I had tried to "go-it-alone", things would have had a very different outcome. I highly recommend the legal services of Anderson Simmons. Mr. Simmons recently assisted me with a lawsuit in which I was being sued for the balance of a second mortgage. I was being sued, time was running out, I was upset, confused, lost. I called 4 other law firms I found on Google. One had a person making appts only despite my short time and request to speak to an attorney now. Two had message machines and I wasn't sure they were even local despite the ad, the 3rd was actually a referral and all he did was put me down by saying he had to charge me more to "unf**k" what I had already done. All ego and bully. Andy answered the phone himself, I was on the verge of crying and in true AA meeting style I said "Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm being sued." Andy lightheartedly said "That can't feel good". He had me at Hello. Touchy feelies aside, he is reassuring, knowledgable, efficient and isn't out to milk your penny. Andy has INTEGRITY!, communicates the steps he takes and txt'd me we'd WON 20 mins after the deposition had started.

I cannot recommend Mr. Simmons any higher. I have used Andy on many cases over the years over everything from business disputes to contract advice and he has always handled my matters with the utmost in professionalism and care. Anderson is a good human being who just happens to know the law and practices with the utmost integrity. He is not a lawyer that is just interested in billed hours. He speaks to the client in English, skips the legal jargon when possible and bills at a fair hourly rate for work that could be billed at three times the amount without complaint. He is top notch, fair, down to Earth and my top recommendation if you are looking for legal help in the Austin area.
