I recently went through a highly contested child custody modification case that lasted a year and a half, and ultimately prevailed with support of the firm. I appreciate many things about how Jake and JB handled the case. Tactically, they handled the pre-trial phase very well; they educated me well about what to expect at each phase; and when we got to trial, Jake was masterful in conducting cross examination--one cross was more skillful / engrossing than anything I'd seen on TV or real life to date. What I appreciate most though is Jake and JB helped me to present myself and my case authentically. While Jake lead my direct testimony, I was able to naturally and coherently share the salient timelines, facts, and perspectives relevant to the case. As a consequence, I felt the judge got what she needed from me to make a just ruling. My practice session with JB was also invaluable. I personally wanted to take an active role in the case, in terms of reviewing discovery documents, organizing / and providing notes on evidence, and providing input into the overall strategy. They did a good job balancing between saving me from myself, and leveraging the good suggestions I had. Lastly, I found billing to be reasonable. Specifically we were always able to come to an understanding on billing matters that did not initially make sense to me--in a case this big, there are bound to be billing questions. Overall, I highly recommend Jake, JB, and the firm in general. I am extremely satisfied with the results delivered.
