I had to retain Mat for my divorce. Mat went above and beyond what I could have expected. I'm very grateful that he helped facilitate an amicable divorce that didn't last longer than 3 weeks. I called 7 lawyers before choosing Mat. He was the only one that didn’t try to rush me into signing a contract and really took the time to help me understand the ins and outs of the whole process. I called and talked to him on the phone at some length several times before even hiring him and he was exceedingly patient and helpful even without knowing whether I would end up officially hiring him. I did end up hiring him and making him attend mediation with me even though he thought it was a better idea to go to court to get a quicker and more streamlined decision (sorry Mat!). We were able to get things done in mediation in no small part because of Mat’s calm and confident way of defending mine and my son’s interests that made disagreements a non-starter. He has made himself available promptly for my questions every step of the way. I have the utmost trust and confidence in his knowledge and proficiency. My ex is a bully but with Mat in my corner, I was able to stand up for myself and my son and not accept any of the nonsense that he tried to throw my way. To begin, I first reached out to Mat Rueda Law Firm leaving a voicemail. My call was returned personally by Mat Rueda where I then began to explain my situation (Child support/custody). I had about a month before my court date to meet with Mat and discuss what actions ---I--- wanted to take and, from a lawyer's point of view, what made sense. It had been a lot back and forth with My Son's father. A lot of stress that comes with sharing a child and who is "right or wrong" with his upbringing. It took so much energy out of me for 8 months trying to have a relationship with my teenager that I did not know what to do anymore. After my one and only sit down with Mat I had full confidence that I had found the right lawyer. Mat did the bickering for me in court. He stood up for me when I wasn't being heard but the other parent. He over achieved our goals in one court date!! I haven't seen my son in 8 months, my court date was on a Thursday, my court order began the very next day, Friday! I am very grateful for his time. I could not have done this without him. I cannot say enough Great things about Mat. He is professional, answers your every question, tries to call back or message you as soon as he can ( usually same day). Makes you feel comfortable and will be honest with you. Definitely will recommend with friends, and family and we know who to go with if we ever need him again. 5 stars isn’t enough for this guy, he needs 10!!!
