I am never one to write recommendations about professionals who are supposed to do a job and get it done. As a professional myself, I don’t expect anyone to celebrate the work I was expected to do and did it. But here is a welcomed exception to my own rules. When a professional goes way beyond the call of his or her fiduciary duty to please you as a client, a celebration and commendation for that noble deed of humanity is inevitable. In this context, I am indeed pleased to recommend Mat Rueda to anyone needing, not just a lawyer, but someone who empathizes with his clients and make you feel as though you are the only one in the world that he is dedicated to whenever he talks to you or email you with updates. May I mention “Undivided Attention”.  Having endured the frustration and fear instilled in me by previous Lawyers I spoke to about my case, meeting Mat Rueda was like that breath of fresh air that comes after waiting to exhale for 2 minutes too long. By virtue of Mat Rueda’s knowledge and experience in Family Law in the State of Texas, complemented with his unique ability to break down complicated legal procedures and practices into my simple little ABCs, I was able to gain unprecedented success in my civil case. Mat is great at negotiating with all parties, especially with the opposing lawyer and always seemed to get what I wanted within the complicated legal contexts of my case.  From my observation, Mr. Rueda uses his talent, knowledge, experience and instinct to think on his feet, especially when he is challenged by the opposing lawyer making unreasonable demands on me. His focus was always on protecting, promoting and procuring my interests. When I think back of my nagging nervousness and anxieties that he had to overcome in dealing with my case, I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt, that his patience, consideration, compassion and humanity are at the core of his professional character.  It was not just about winning the case, but consideration about the reality of life after settlement. That level of sensitivity to me was of extreme importance. In conclusion, I have no hesitation in highly recommending him. The price for his service was more than reasonable considering many of the unexpected situations I had to deal with from the opposing lawyer at what always seemed to be at the last minute. He sticks to agreed timetable of conversations and meetings with fair warning if changes are needed in schedule.  He answered my calls day or night, or used to call back as soon as possible with unneeded apologies for not being able to talk to me because he was in a meeting. He even called me back when he was on vacation just because he thought it was important to me to get clarification on a matter related to my case that ended up being so simple after his explanation. I measure by the exception... not by the rules. Mat Rueda is exceptional in the delivery of his professional duties. I was referred to Mat Rueda after dealing with a previous lawyer who I had worked with a couple months who long story short ended up waisting my money and worst of all left me with an open unresolved case! It was then when I contacted Mat and he was willing to take my open case and jumped right inn, from the beginning was very up front and realistic every aspect of my case, he is very timely and always seemed to make time for me anytime i had any question or concern witch is a plus knowing how busy lawyers can get! I am very happy to say that my child support modification order was solved and closed on April 6th and love the way things have changed for the better! My "New Beginning" Lawyer is worthy of my review! I am glad that I hired Mat and I even chose to give him a title that I actually did refer to him as and stored him in my phone under which is: "My New Beginning Lawyer". He did a good job at providing details on all of his "next steps" during the four month process. I had very specific needs and desires along the way, to which in the end he stood behind me and supported me all the way to my finish line. My "New Beginning" was finalized on International Women's Day, and that date had so many other symbolic things about it as well, but I felt 100 pounds lighter on 3/8/17! It felt so great to walk out of court on this day as an official free woman! I give all glory and honor first to God, and then to Mat as he did help me get there with as much ease as possible. I literally had to stop and do a praise shout and dance in court when everything was finalized, so this day will forever be remembered, and Mat (My New Beginnings Lawyer) will be as well! When I first began my Divorce process, Mr. Rueda came highly recommend to me by several trusted friends. During this very difficult time he has communicated with me in a way that has been warm and respectful. In the courtroom Mr. Rueda is confident, extremely knowledgeable, and entirely well-spoken. Mr. Rueda and his office staff have been beyond generous towards me with their time and their thoughts towards my case. Mat is a very affable person. However, he seemed to lack experience in regards to finances as they pertain to divorces. As an example of his diligence, I received papers from him multiple times that were "ready" and "looked good" which contained placeholders and mistakes. At one point, he was just shy of yelling in my face when I was asking for advice regarding custody because "I was going over my hours". He took payment up-front. If I could recommend him less, I would. Highly unprofessional.
