I called twice today, to inquire about a possible rejection to a family member's case with him on the line and was put on hold for 5 minutes only to be told that the staff would get back to me by the end of the day. They had no idea what I was talking about when I addressed the NVC case status rejection from last week, which is beyond me. You would think the party representing the client would be the first to know these things. We called to see what we could do to proceed in his case. We were told that they would ensure that we had a callback by the end of the day. I told my family member that the business detail on Google states that they close at 5:30pm, and the receptionist or person who answered the call never corrected or stated that they in fact close at 5pm according to the business after-hours voicemail. The person on the phone called my family member by the wrong last name twice, and when I proceeded to correct her the second time, she brushed me off, telling me they would call him by the end of the day. I told her to leave a detailed voicemail if my family member was unable to answer as he is awaiting visa processing in another country and has spotty signal, she said yes, and we never got a call back. The only reason I called with him on the phone was because he has submitted emails and left voicemails that haven't been answered. He has no idea what is going on with his case as the process has not been explained to him. Now he is in limbo, in his home country, with no knowledge about his case, he has a possible rejection and nobody can get back to him. I was actually surprised that they didn't confirm case details or anything like that, so I am unnsure if the lady who answered actually knew what case she was "addressing". Apparently staff here constantly tells my family member that his paralegal is never there when he calls and that nobody can take his call at all, much less call him back.
