After nine years and three different lawyers, I found Kristen Carr at Varghese Summersett at a time when I needed her the most. Through these years, I’ve learned an important lesson: lawyers are not your friends, nor should they have their own agenda—they are there to litigate for you and your case. That is exactly what Kristen Carr did. Kristen is not only incredibly skilled in navigating the courtroom, but she also knows how to litigate effectively with a judge and conduct precise, impactful cross-examinations. What truly sets her apart, though, is her ability to pick up on critical details that may seem obvious to me as the client but are often difficult to articulate. She would grasp these nuances and fully understand who and what we were up against. For the first time in my long and difficult custody battle, I felt validated as a client. These cases are incredibly messy and emotionally exhausting, but every time I spoke with Kristen, I felt a sense of relief. I knew I was in capable hands and had someone genuinely fighting for me. I will never forget the first time we met. I didn’t even have to step into the courtroom—a place that is both intimidating and highly tense. Kristen walked into the waiting room, handed me papers the judge had signed, and said, “Go get your son.” In that moment, years of fear, stress, and uncertainty melted away. While I had strong evidence in my favor, I can’t overstate how Kristen’s handling of my case probably saved years of my life. Warning to anyone tempted to engage with this company: many of their reviews are clearly false (you can pay for reviews or people sometimes have family members leave fake reviews). In addition, they are involved in several lawsuits.

Waste of time..

I think God for Kevin. I found out I had a situation I wasn’t aware of with no attorney in mind I reached out to Harris & Harris. And was represented by Kevin. He got on the case very quickly. Was very responsive when I had a questions. Communicated effectively. He’s definitely my Attorney for life now thanks Harris & Harris for everything. I highly recommend!!

Kevin Harris is a man of God, and I don't say that lightly. He and his brother, Keith, were District Attorneys who heeded a Higher Calling when they decided to start defending people instead of prosecuting them. They are not in it for the money. They truly recognize a greater purpose in defending people. Have you ever met with an attorney who was supposed to defend you, and left feeling worse about your situation than you did before you met with them? In my experience, attorneys don't genuinely care about you and your situation. Some of the biggest law firms in Dallas, whose advertisements you'll see all over billboards and TV, will charge you the cost of going to trial when they would never honestly consider actually defending you. They don't care if the plea they're telling you to take will rip your family apart. They don't care that they've charged you for a trial and are now using the energy they should use in the courtroom to convince you to take a plea that you know is not in your best interests. I have witnessed these attorneys in action. They're the ones that usually come to mind when people think of attorneys. This Law Firm is different!! I almost hired an attorney because I felt the least uncomfortable with them, but I was not at all COMFORTABLE. After speaking with so many attorneys over such a long period of time, I thought that going with the one who made me feel the least uncomfortable was the best I could do. I am not a criminal and did not intend to commit a crime, but each attorney I spoke with made me feel there was no hope because of my criminal past. I finally prayed about it after months of uncomfortable meetings with attorneys I knew didn’t care about me and my family. I was led to Harris and Harris the same day I prayed. I immediately knew that finding them was an answer to my prayer, but I didn’t write this review for them. I wrote it so you wouldn’t make the mistake I was so close to making. If you feel beaten down after meeting with defense attorneys, who you know don’t really care about what happens to you, you owe it to yourself and your family to call Harris and Harris.

I called Harris and Harris for a consultation, their office staff was professional, friendly, and prompt. They let me know Mr.Keith Harris would be calling within a designated time frame. Keith called me right on the dot, and immediately like the office staff, he was professional, friendly and prompt. He articulated the information in a manner that was very easy to understand. He took his time thoroughly explaining the situation, and offering guidance and most importantly support. I believe Mr.Keith to be truly genuine, in wanting to help and represent his clients. I without a doubt will be using his office moving forward.
