Some people come into your life through circumstances – that leave a mark on you, and Josh is that kind of person. I had the opportunity to meet and work with Josh several years ago, while I was dealing with a divorce. I have deep admiration for him, and I would highly recommend him for the reasons below. First and foremost, Josh is a man of high integrity. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, trustworthy, compassionate as well as passionate about helping his clients. He made a very difficult situation manageable. He stayed in constant communication with me, and guided me through the whole process with strong wisdom and advice. He has a rare gift of sifting through the information, and helping his client towards solutions. Josh accomplished helping both parties come to a solution and be able to move forward, where so many lives remain stuck. The outcome benefited not only myself, but also our family. I’d like to also mention, that the opposing counsel, when our divorce was complete, worked with Josh and sent several cases to him. They saw in him the qualities he lives, not just in his professional life, but his personal as well. I consider myself so very fortunate to have worked with Josh, and highly recommend him. I've used Josh and his firm on 3 different occassions and I find them to be very professional and they fulfill their promises. As everyone knows, legal issues can drag on, but Josh and his Paralegal, Rosa kept me informed and managed the process so that costs would be kept to a minimum. If you want results, I would highly recommend Josh and other members of his firm.

I have worked with Josh Northam and his assistant, Rosa twice. The first time was during my divorce. I was having a difficult time, and Josh was very sensitive to my need for compassion as well as my need to understand every step of the proceedings. There were times when I was trying to balance two jobs, that I would forget to submit important paperwork. Rosa was always very curtious in her requests to me, and went the extra mile to ensure that I understood exactly what was happening at each step of the journey. I was very pleased with the outcome of the divorce proceedings as well as the amount of time both Josh and Rosa spent with me in person or by phone or email. The second time I worked with Josh was after the death of my grandmother. Negligence was suspected, and the family was understandably devastated. Josh was able to answer many questions and direct us to the right avenues to take the case farther without making this difficult time any more heartbreaking. I would use Josh for any legal matter I encounter. I am completely confident in his ability to do a great job and to protect my best interests. I appreciate that he and Rosa are always willing to educate me about areas of the law I don't understand. Most of all, I would work with him because he truly cares about his clients.

I met with Josh and Claire a few months ago regarding child custody matters, and the experience was WONDERFUL. My situation is complicated, to say the least, and both Josh and Claire dedicated time and concern for me and my daughter. GENUINE concern. I felt very comfortable and at ease, and Josh answered my questions thoroughly and honestly. He did much more for me than was required and certainly more than I expected. He is not just a good lawyer, but a good person, in my opinion. I would absolutely recommend him, and he will be the first person I call if I needed ANY kind of legal advice, and I know he would either help me or give me information on who could.

This was a horrible experience! Josh and his assistant (Rosa) provided no guidance and no assistance in any way with the exception of the beginning. I had to continually ask questions. With every question I asked I was charged about $200. I was told my divorce would cost about $2,000 (I have no children) and it ended up costing me over $5,000 and I gave my ex everything. The stress of dealing with Josh and his assistant did nothing for me except cause me to have more debt and more worries than I had before. In the end I ended up filing the divorce on my own and finalizing everything without his assistance. To top it off, when it was all said and done I asked that my bill be reconciled (as Josh agreed it was too high - I have that in writing by email from Josh) he knocked of $750, but then insisted I pay in full by the end of the year (this was in late September). I never once said I would not pay (and I had been making payments on top of the $1,500 retainer that was already provided) and it was as if he was kicking me while I was down to suggest that I would have to pay that kind of money right around the holidays after I lost everything! He was not at all helpful or knowledgeable (part of my bill was for them to research how to handle a simple response which I understand is typical in divorces that involve two or more counties) and his assistant was simply doing her best to add fees onto the bill. I spoke to many lawyers before and after Josh, all of which would have been a better pick. I was provided better guidance, customer service, human relation, and advise from the other lawyers. I chose him simply because a friend used to work for him and suggested I use him. I also work with Josh’s mother-in-law and felt he would have a personal connection with me considering the two separate degrees of separation that were met. I have dealt with lawyers before (for other reasons) and have never been nickel and dimed the way that this office handled my case. I understand if you want the best you have to pay, but I had to pay for horrible service and no guidance. If someone were to ask me what I spent the $5,000 on, I would say I paid my ex to take everything I had thanks to Josh.
