I hired this attorney to post a bond for a misdemeanor and two tickets ONLY and what this attorney did was file a false letter of representation in the court stating that he was hired as an attorney to handle the case, when in fact that was NOT true, he was only hired to post the bond. When I informed the attorney that his legal service to be an attorney on the case was filed without consent and I would inform the court and file a complaint with the State of Texas and the Dallas County Bail Bond Board, Philip filed a false affidavit with the court alleging that he had lost contact with me and he wanted to get off the case and the bond because he did not know my whereabouts all because I told him it was unethical to file a letter of representation with the court when he had not been retained. Being retained as an attorney to handle a case and being hired to post a bond are two totally different things. So, because Phillip Wainscott filed a false affidavit with the court, the court issued a warrant based on the lie Phillip Wainscott told. Phillip Wainscott has been disciplined by the State Bar and by the Dallas County Bail Bond Board which confirms the character and ethics of this attorney. Be aware that what he may tell you or anyone for that matter will not be coming from an honest place.

Mr. Wainscott was my attorney on a 2nd degree felony case for which i received probation recently. I felt pretty hopeless b/c of the details of this case. Evidence was not in my favor and i couldn't have imagined a decent outcome. Phil kept me positive and told me that he was not gonna let me go to prison. He did exactly what he said he would do and I am home with my family b/c of it. He is a good and honest man. He does not give you the typical lawyer vibe. I always felt he truly cared about what i was going through. I have the utmost respect for him. He is a good Christian man who you can trust.

I hired Mr. Wainscott for my son's murder and drug charge. When I talked to other attorney's they left me feeling helpless and confused. A co-worker of mine suggested that I call Mr. Wainscott. My co-worker's son had been charged with kidnapping. Mr. Wainscott had helped their son get the charge reduced to a misdemeanor. I found Mr. Wainscott to be more expensive than other attorney's. But, once I spoke to him it was apparent that he was the right attorney for my son. First, he was able to get my son out of jail. His bond had been $500,000 and Mr. Wainscott got the bond reduced to $25000. Within a few days of my son's release, Mr. Wainscott and my son, met with the detectives on the case. The murder charge was eventually dismissed as a result of Mr. Wainscott's knowledge of police policy and procedures. The drug charge involved a half kilo of methamphetamine. At first I was unhappy with the 5year probation. But, as I sat in court and saw other people getting prison time for much less drugs, I came to realize that the probation was a good outcome. Mr. Wainscott charged me $20,000 to handle both of my son's charges. As far as reviewing Mr. Wainscott, he has good and bad things. Good is that he knows what he is doing. All the prosecutors and judges speak highly of Mr. Wainscott. The police detectives liked working with him because of his former police experience (almost 20years). He knows the law and how to handle his cases. He meets his clients personally. Bad is that he is expensive. $20,000 is a lot of money. But, to get the murder charge dismissed and get probation on the drug case was a good outcome. He does office out of his home. He has a small office in his wife's store where he meets his clients. If your looking for an attorney in a big office building, Mr. Wainscott is not your attorney. But, if your looking for an honest attorney who will work his butt off for your son, Mr. Wainscott is certainly your attorney.

Phillip is an excellent attorney. He went to trial with me on an aggravated robbery charge. The DA at first asked for prison time. Phillip refused to accept any prison time. We set the case for Jury trial and the DA offered felony probation. We refused this offer and went to trial. If I lost my trial I could have been sent to prison up to 99 years. Mr. Wainscott strongly suggested for me to go to trial. Thank God I listened. 4 day trial. Jury was out 15 min. NOT GUILTY. Best $15,000 I ever spent. Hire Mr. Wainscott.

This attorney took my case to trial when other attorney's gave me little to no chance of winning. When I asked Mr. Wainscott what were my chances of being found not guilty he said it was 50/50. Although he is more expensive than most other attorney's he fought for me very hard in trial. It was a four day trial and I was found not guilty after the jury deliberated for only 20 minutes. He is hard to get on the phone but, he will meet you anytime after 5pm. It was the best $10,000 that I ever paid for anything. My only critique is that he is hard to get on the phone because he is always in trial. Mr. Wainscott erased everything off my record. I also liked that he only does criminal defense. I guess that is logical since he was a police officer for many years.

Don't know why the other review was so negative about Mr. Wainscott. He handled my case in a professional manner (found not guilty at jury trial). I would agree that he is hard to get on the phone. He is always in trial. But, when I set-up several in person meetings with him he was always there and took as much time as I needed to discuss my case. He will give you the telephone numbers of several former clients to call to see how he handled their cases. Both of the people that I called were very satisfied with him (both found not guilty at trial). He is a little more expensive than other atttorneys. But, how much is it worth to get your best shot at being found not guilty at trial? I asked him about his State Bar record and he was very open to discuss it. Both complaints were the result of two different people being found not guilty at trial on DWI's and he was late filing the expunctions. both people were given their money back and he did the expunctions for free. Maybe the previous complaint was valid but, no one that I have talked to would have agreed with the complaint.

This lawyer does not have a listed office. You can't get ahold of the attorny directly, you have to go through his secretary Lucy who doesn't return phone calls. No one ever picks up the phone at the "office". His office is listed as a PO Box. He makes promises to call that he does not keep, and hasn't shown up for court on three occassions. He never directly calls you back and has only made one visit to jail in 3 months. His secretary has unknowingly thought she muted or silenced a call on her cell phone from a client and proceeded to talk on another line on a personal call. He's collected $10,000 for a court case and only showed up once in court, and once to jail. He's currently not answering the phone and was suppose to show up as promissed to court this past Friday. My case is still pending and neither him nor his secretary has made a contact attempt since he was suppose to show up to court on Friday to explain what happened.
