My hearing took place on March 28, 2017. Lisa was amazing! I have hired other attorneys in the past to help me with my case but no one stood up for me and rocked like she did. When I walked out of the court room in the past I felt like I lost and my ex won again and again and again. Lisa stopped that cold and instead of playing defense at court Lisa was on the offense the whole time, and the Judge saw right through my ex’s lies finally. My daughter and I would like to thank you. You are a true definition of a ROCK STAR attorney, and the staff at your office are awesome.

They use an application called MyCase which keeps their clients at arm's length and out of communication. It fails viable communication between attorney and client. They bill for many nonessential attorney communications which do not further cases. I have found their recommendations for supporting professionals in psychology and other arenas to be unhelpful. As a parent in need of strong custody advocates without even trial encounters, they sucked. Lisa and the people she has hired are incompetent and unresourceful in the Dallas county family court system. I am sadly disappointed in the choice of this lawfirm after 13 months of no progress in my family custody situation.

We had a complex, high-asset divorce case that had been mishandled by a previous attorney, and had been allowed to drag on for over 4 years with no end in sight! The stress was unimaginable. When I conducted my research for a new attorney (I research EVERYTHING!), I contacted several attorneys. Most seemed more interested in the fees...and some of those retainer fees...OMG!! Lisa, Gene and their staff were amazing. Immediately after the initial consultation, which we did over the phone, I knew we had chosen the right attorney. And if I had any doubts (which I didn't), they would have been eliminated after we came in to meet with Lisa and Gene face to face. Talk about go-getter, no-nonsense high energy!! She had the whole staff working on this case, and the confidence she exuded was very reassuring. We spent hours going over every detail. Watching her work was like watching one of those scripted high-profile lawyer shows on TV, only this was real life. She'd decide that expert appraisers were needed for this asset or that asset and she'd get them on the phone right then and there. She asked questions that had not been asked previously; questions that only come from experience. And they were questions that made a difference. Her and Gene worked in tandem - she would start a sentence and he would finish it. Or she would work on one aspect of the case and he would work on another. While they were working, their paralegals were right in sync, moving around and between them, handing them copies of this or that or printing off whatever was needed so they never missed a beat. If so much personal information hadn't been discussed I would love to have videoed the whole scene. And when we went to trial - oh man! What I can tell you is that she was surgical! Gene was there, her lead paralegal was there and it was ON!! Due to the complexity of the case, the trial lasted for hours. Every detail was covered and in the end the judge had a clear, and most importantly, an ACCURATE picture of the facts and the decision was fair and even - which was the goal from the onset 5 years before. If you're researching family law attorneys, the law firm of Lisa McKnight is the way to go. Lisa is well respected in the courts and has the expertise to get the job done in a professional manner. She only practices family law as opposed to some other attorney's who "also do" family law. Trust me, it makes a big difference!
