Jim Horton and his staff are absolutely incredible. When making a decision as to who I would choose to represent me, I met with three other lawyers before deciding that Mr. Horton was the right person for the job. It was by far one of the best decisions I have made in my life - no exaggeration. Mr. Horton had my best interest in mind and fought hard for me throughout the entire process. He listened to my story, helped me create a plan, and guided me every step of the way toward the life I deserved. I would recommend Attorney James Horton to anyone who wants a lawyer who will believe in you and understand you, have your back, keep you informed, and ensure that the best possible outcome becomes your reality. I want to know why a lawyer that is supposed to be “professional” thinks it’s appropriate to make comments about wanting to kill someone if not himself, just because he doesn’t know how to handle a case. I thought you were so experienced since you went on and on about all your certificates, Horton?This is the worst lawyer and I would advise everyone in Denton to go ahead and find yourself a better lawyer that actually knows what he’s doing and actually acts professional. He doesn’t care about your case, in fact, he uses excessive vulgar language just to show you how much he doesn’t really care. If I could rate him zero stars, I would. Please, don’t waste your money on this lawyer, and find yourself a lawyer that will actually try to help you win your case. If you’re thinking about hiring James Horton, please just know you are better off representing yourself. (No, seriously.) A lawyer is supposed to be someone that helps you better understand how you can win your case, and advises what’s best for you, not someone like James Horton who dismisses you when you try to ask him something and only insults his client further. That is all.

Very abrasive phone staff. Unwilling to hire due to this issue

Jim Horton helped our family with a divorce and a difficult custody case. Our success with that case was the result of Jim’s legal expertise as well as his years of experience in the court system. He is an excellent listener, gathering the facts that are most pertinent to a successful result. And on trial day was meticulously prepared for all everything. We highly recommend him.

If I could give Jim more stars I would. He helped me through a very tough drawn out divorce. He made sure I was always prepared and he himself was always totally prepared. He gave me a very accurate assessment of what I was going against and was always correct in the direction he pointed me into. Jim was very professional in court and helped me get more out of the divorce than I had expected. I'll always be indebted to him for the fantastic job he did for me. There's not many people you can say in life have your back, Jim certainly had mine!
