I suggest you look for another place. Ms Lerma seems very interested at first but after you pay her you’re gonna be ignored. She will set up meetings and won’t even show up. A simple divorce has taken close to two years now and still isn’t finalized. They messed up on the final decree by imputing wrong information. There are true professionals out there but she ain’t one.

I hired her for a divorce of 38 yrs ,staff lost my paperwork she did if anything the minimal she didn't fight for me ,I'm still struggling to this day after 2 and a half yrs ,she seemed distracted the whole time .

Not much communication. Leave messages through portal week after week with no response. Paid to get a case handled never got a call to go over the case before court. Was told we could file divorce for more permanent orders to see my son. 6 months later no court date and no response to any of my attempts to figure out what’s going on. Finally was able to call and talk to the secretary and the response was waiting on the court that it’s beyond her control. That’s not correct. Talked to another firm and got a better answer from a secretary who is not even on my case. My wife had so many days to respond to the Subpoena that time had elapsed by a month. The lack of communication or transparency from this firm is inexcusable. Especially when it comes to children stuck in a situation where they are not seeing both parents or family.

Used as an ad litem attorney. Decided it was best for child to go with father because child (under extreme pressure from father) should live with father. Father was proven to have a drug and alcohol problem and refused to go to court appointed drug tests and counseling. Father also main subject in an attempted murder of step father two weeks prior to filing for custody. Lerma used the stress in the household after said event against mother. Older sister told truth about father but Lerma lied in court about what sister said under advice from father. Lerma will look at families Facebook and will determine from your political beliefs that you are not a good parent regardless of evidence to the contrary. If she is appointed by the court as a ab litem attorney fight to have her taken off the case. She lacks the to look beyond her political beliefs. If you are a conservative or law enforcement family make sure to stay away. Of course the 2 star overall rating is an indication of this attorney’s abilities. Not to mention any attorney that is court appointed is usually not very good as well.

Just saw she is running in the primary today. Was going to go vote anyway, glad I saw she was running. So I can vote against her. She was very helpful at 1st. I’m literally still waiting on a call back from over a year ago. Don’t have money yet to get another lawyer. Never calls back never let me know what was going on. I was not in agreement on how my divorce was finalized yet she claimed there was nothing we could do. I had information that my ex was making way more money than he claimed and I was ignored when I said I can do a financial probe. Nothing. Not a word. Very disappointed in the treatment of her staff. Left multiple messages by phone by email by the portal for my case and nothing. People trust a lawyer to take care of them when they are not only paid upfront for all costs but because divorce is a very emotional matter. Do not go to this “law firm” not worth the hassle or stress.

I hired Veronica Lerma for a divorce case in August. She can not run her office efficiently, my case has not progressed it is nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone in her office. Makes me wonder if she can’t even manage her small law firm how can Ms. Lerma capably serve in the Eighth Court of Appeals? I will absolutely go vote just to not vote for her. I do not recommend Veronica T. Lerma as an attorney.

It's sad to say this but I hired her for a cps case that wasn't even a full cps case my daughter was involved in a terrible accident life threatening if you will. So I had alot going on and I need help for the cps part but she did absolutely nothing my cps case is closed it got moved to another department and I'm good. She attended on phone call conversation with me and cps where she was supposed to email paper work after she looked it over so I could sign it well I'm still waiting on tht but no need now. I called her maybe three times they never call you or update you on nothing I recorded conversation with secretary because she said I was being rude when I said no I'm not I'm actually recording this conversation she got really polite don't wast your time I'm still waiting on call bck but pretty much lost my money so sad tht I truly needed help and they let me don't she don't get my vote no compassion can't follow through with commitment
