We were misguided. He told us that unless we hired him and filed a lawsuit first, we would not be able to ask the court to have them pay our legal costs, if they filed first. Come to find out after the case was over that was not true. Either the plaintiff or the defendant can ask the court to have the other side pay their legal bills. After hiring him based on this, a costly legal battle ensued. Come to find out the other side was never going to sue me, and we did not need to sue them first in order to have a chance of recovering legal cost. Had he divulged this, he never would have been hired and never a suit would have been filed. Very disappointed, lost thousands for no reason.
