I will never use this practice again. I was lied to, felt insulted, and told to delete my negative review by Mark himself. I'm leaving it in the hopes that someone else will not choose him in the future. If I can save one person the trouble, it was worth it.

I used Mark Lane almost 8 years ago for my custody battle. I had to write this because there are so many bad comments. He was the best blessing that we could have hoped for. In the consultation he laid every expectation that we had out and he told us if he would be able to meet them. He said that it would take time and money (as this is how the court system and custody battles go) but that he would be able to help. We fought this battle for a little under a year and it was almost 20k but HE DID EVERYTHING HE SAID THAT HE WOULD. He was wonderful throughout the whole process. He stood up for me and cared about my situation. Once my x terminated his rights he got me to another attorney for the best interest of the child and finished very quickly. I have referred many to him over the years and the first thing that I say is that he is expensive but he is the best. You can not get the best of anything at the cheapest price. You get what you pay for. It was the best decision I ever made to hire him. Thank you again Mark!!!

Mr. Lane is a sales man, lies to you to take your money. He never works on your case. DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY with this office.

I agree with most of the other posts here. My son paid Lane a $7500 retainer and then came to an agreement with his ex the next week. Lane did NOTHING, kept the money and pulled all the tricks that others here are complaining of - phantom phone calls, emails, etc. My son did not even get a billing statement until after several repeated requests, and get this - they billed him every time he called to ask for someone to call him back! Lane is exactly the type of lawyer that gives the profession its poor public image. I give Mark Lane 5 stars for marketing his law firm and 0 stars for taking care of his clients. Who are these people writing the glowing reviews? Have you noticed there are no "average" reviews. Beware the "professional" aka PAID reviews!!

Terrible. Arrogant guy who is after your money. Not once did he or any representative ask me ever about my case. Told me not to show up for court and then asked me why I didn't show up. They are very unorganized. If you want to waste money and not be treated fairly then choose MARK LANE!

I just gotta say if anyone had any kind of case ill bet you money mark could handle it! My ex filed first and i thought i lost right off the bat. Mr Lane made sure that i was more than taken care of. Thank you Mark for keeping him from taking me to the cleaners!

If there was a negative star I would choose that. If you want to hire a arrogant man who has no regard for your case Mark Lane is your man! I hired him to defend my Son in a case. He pressured me to pay him a down payment the day of the consult. Should have been my first clue he operates like a 3rd rate con man. once he got my Sons money he refused to answer or return calls. His staff was disorganized and misinformed. The simplest of procedures were grossly mishandled. I cant begin to describe the helpless feeling of knowing the person who was supposed to be helping you and advocate for you in a life changing legal circumstance absolutely has no concern for your situation! The final straw was his assistant Hailey told my Son his presence wasn't needed in court that Mr. Lane would be there. Days after court my Son tried to contact Mr. Lane to find out outcome. Mr. Lane of course never would respond. When we called the court we found out Mr. Lane DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP FOR COURT! Resulting in a Warrant for My Son! When we checked with the court he had never even filed with the court as his attorney. He then later sent a fake copy of a letter to me saying he did file. What a joke. We are educated, honest people and his misconduct and negligence was absolutely shocking! I think he pays people to sprinkle so good reviews on sites. All the reviews of how hateful and negligent he is are the TRUE reviews. I can not figure out how his license hasn't been revoked yet. People you need to contact the bar and report this man that thinks he is above reproach in taking advantage of people who put their trust in him.

I agree with everyone here. If you want to throw 3 thousand dollars out the window, go to an adult entertainment bar and at least "make it rain" and waste it on something else. This guy is an absolute joke. I hired him, he never showed up to court, he only sent someone else. I finally got the chance to meet him a year into my case and when I called him out for lying to me and for putting SOMEONE ELSES name on my final decree, he responded by asking me "what does it matter". I responded with "because you are my attorney that I am supposed to trust and you lied to me". He walked out of the room, then walked back into the room and was by far the most mean and hateful person. He screamed at me that he couldn't believe that I would tell him his staff didn't know what they were doing. He name called me, and then he cut me down. My mother and my three kids were out in the waiting room of Mark's office. He was yelling so loud my kids were scared for me, and they could here everything. He threw my stack of papers at me in the room we were in, and he then told me I was fired!!!! I repeatedly had been asking for a copy of my file and of my accounting of money, and not to my surprise, I was still leaving his office with nothing, other than a threat that I owed him more money and I had 24 hours to get it to him or he was gonna take legal action on me. I left and hyperventilated for about 15 mins in his parking lot. I had never experienced something like that in my life. So I left there, and I went to the courthouse to check out public records. Well, thank god I did. I then found out that a year ago when we got my temporary orders, they had 15 days to type my orders into the system, even this had never been done! So 3 thousand dollars and a year later, all I have is a set of temporary orders, that currently I am having MY NEW ATTORNEY, enter into the system. Thats right folks. Thats all I got! They even told me at the court house, due to the fact nothing has been done with my case in so long, that it was on the docket to be dismissed for no activity next month. Thank God Mark fired me, had he not have done it, I wouldn't have known anything different. Such wasted money, I cannot believe how unprofessional this guy and his staff are. The only person I have anything good to say about is one of his associates, Pam. She's the only one who ever touched my case or responded to emails. Mark Lane's slogan is "Hire Me Before Your Spouse Does"......I only WISH my ex had hired him before I did. Had my ex of hired him, I would be in a great spot right now. Lol. I am happy to say I have hired a new attorney for half of the price as Mark, and already she has gotten more accomplished in the 3 days she's been hired than Mark Lane could do in a year. Once again people, I haven't "lost" anything or my case at this point, and I have no reason to lie to anyone here. Please DO NOT HIRE MARK LANE!!!! You will be seriously disappointed, you will be out a whole bunch of money, and as if it wasn't hard enough divorcing the man I had been with for 14 years, but you will have ten times the amount of stress and you will be left to feel empty and will remain to have nothing but unanswered questions. This law practice should be shut down. If you don't believe me, check out other lawyer reviews on other websites. Google him! I didn't do this till after I hired him, and I wish I would have done this first. He even has bad notes on the Better Buisness Bureaus website!!! I am just trying to help out anyone else this man may come into contact with.

This guy is a joke. He will waste your time making you believe that he is actually doing something with your case but isnt actually doing anything except collecting a paycheck. He doesnt even show up to court he has someone else show up and they might even be late. I do not recommend him to anyone.

If you want to waste your time and money and have absolutely nothing done on your case hire Mark Lane
