Please avoid this law firm! They took my retainer and disappeared.

This is the most unprofessional law firm I’ve ever dealt with. And their lack of communication is unreal! Please do not throw your money away at this law firm!

This place is a total scam. Your case will be done for months but they will not respond to calls or emails and then boom… $1000 charge for NOTHING. They will extort you. These people are vile, money hungry creatures who are not here to help. I would question the validity of their 5 star reviews. No one is ever in the office because they don’t want to deal with people or are afraid they will be held accountable. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Please do not go with these guys. I’m about 8k down the drain with these guys, the lack of communication is what really did it. I had my attorney go to multiple hearings without telling me, and I ever told her I wanted to be there and have the email to prove it and I still wasn’t about to go. I will be filing with the State Bar about these guys. I’ve called multiples times and messages to try to get a response and nothing. Terrible.

Spoke to the owner before my case. Told me how much it would cost. I paid it. They billed me for more money. Use them at your own risk. The firm lacks honesty.

I don’t recommend close to 10k already spent it takes them months to get back with you. Every month they will charge u a thousand dollars with no notice and no progress will be made on your case. They do not respect your time or your family. They will ghost you and then charge you and you will receive no answers regarding your case. It’s a scam they take advantage of families when you are at your most vulnerable. Go elsewhere. And mark if your reply is I’m not a client your right but you should check your clients the only reason why I’m posting this is because of your clients call them back and actually do your job.

This place is a joke. Don't waist your time and money because you will regret it I promise that. Do a little research and find a good attorney that's willing to work for you. All these people do is tell you what you want to here and take your money. Honestly not sure how they are still in business. Someone should force them to close there doors because basically there scamming people out of money.

I would not recommend this firm. The original attorney I had ‘took an indefinite leave of absence’ shortly before I had a court date. (This was after a disastrous first hearing) I only found out when I reached out to confirm details. I was also billed for that communication. Which became a problem. I wasn’t given updates about anything, I was only sent requests for trust deposits. When I asked what was happening, I would be billed. Mistakes were frequently made on documents, which I would have to point out, get billed for the communications and the corrections. When everything was finally over, my attorney thought she was being clever after and said, ‘A whole years of work to get him to sign the original document.’ I told her it also cost me $35k and it wasn’t what we originally wanted. She also confirmed in an email that I didn’t need to anything further. But I found out that she never filed the final orders. I had to do it myself. I requested a copy of my completed file with notes detailing what I had been billed. I never received it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. If you like to be ignored for weeks and your money taken for not doing anything then this is the place for you!

I would NOT recommend this firm at all. I needed an attorney to navigate some basic custody modifications. Within the span of 6 months, I had 2 different attorneys that took my case and then left with no notification. In both instances, I did not find out until I started emailing, texting, and calling the firm wondering why all communication had abruptly stopped. After the 2nd attorney quit the firm, the firm wanted another full retainer before they would assign me a new attorney. Insane! I know legal counsel and legal fees can get pricy. Considering, however, the miniscule amount that was actually done for my case and the horrible way they handled changing attorneys, I would stay far away from Mark Childress Firm!!
