I brought a breach of contract lawsuit to Ray in which I was the defendant. This was a complicated case which involved a fraudulent SEC regulated security and a settlement agreement obtained through duress and fraud that I was forced to sign. After being forced to sign the settlement agreement or lose my retirement savings over a fraudulent securities deal, I wanted to inform the authorities about the brokers, who were the sellers of the securities. So I went to FINRA the SRO who regulates the brokers. I explained what had happened. They suggested I try and workout a solution with the brokers before taking any action with them. The sponsor of the deal, the one who had forced me and my fellow investors into signing settlement agreement sued me when he got wind about what I was up to. (the broker contacted them) I had to explain to Ray how the agreement was being used to cover up several crimes. Those of fraudulent securities sales , theft of fiduciary property, elder abuse , conspiracy between attorneys, the bank, the brokers and the sponsor. Ray quickly figured out what was going on. After that point he use all his skills and knowledge to figure out ways to turn the case around and put the plaintiff on the defensive. The Plaintiff had the judge in their pocket as the plaintiff's firm was a big powerful political contributor. The judge gave the plaintiff every break at every turn. We lost three MSJ's and the judge was hostile to my attorney. The judge refused to allow us to make a record until we finally got in front of the jury at trial. Long story short. We took the case to trial and the 12 member jury found by unanimous decision that the plaintiff had not been damage by my breach and the judge was forced to render a decision that I could report the crimes to the authorities. The plaintiff was forced to pay all my legal bills and his own totaling nearly $400,000 in legal fees and expenses because Ray had tendered a certified offer to settle early on in the lawsuit. Ray knows his stuff, he is a fighter and seasoned trial lawyer and I would recommend him in a heart beat to anyone looking for someone knowledgeable in SEC securities litigation and contract law. At the end of the day Ray was able to put the plaintiff in a worse position then before he had filed his lawsuit against me. Now the plaintiff will have to wonder who's going to be knocking on his door next....could it be the SEC or maybe a DA or the FBI.
