I hired Ricardo Barrera to represent me. I had interviewed several different attorneys in my area. Ricardo was the first attorney that actually took the time to listen to me. I was in loosing situation with my ex. I realized I needed to take action and ensure that the separation and child support were legally documented. Let me start off by saying I’m a very busy mom with two children, 5 month old and an 18month old. With that being said, I don’t take time to leave reviews often. Mr. Barrera and his team exceeded my expectations. I actually hired him about 10 years ago. I’m live in Ohio but got myself into a situation visiting Texas. I hired Mr Barrera to represent me but couldn’t afford to come back to Texas to go to court. I put it off all these years, and just kind of ignored it. I’ve always wanted to get it over with and move on with my life instead of having it hanging over my head but just couldn’t afford the trip nor had the time off work to deal with it. Considering the pandemic my sister suggested that I may be able to do video court and not have to travel all the way to Texas. Not thinking about it being the weekend, I messaged Mr. Barrera on Sunday through Facebook. We had been friends ever since I hired him. He responded right away and told me to call the office Monday to set up a phone meeting with him. He was very friendly and did not act bothered by the fact that I was messaging him outside business hours. When I called they took down my info then set me up an appointment for the next day. Probably not even 2 hours later Mr. Barrera called me to tell me my case had been dismissed in 2019. He could’ve stopped there but he took the time to ensure that all the paperwork was filed properly and my warrant had been dropped. He emailed me the official paperwork that says they dropped my charges and suggested I keep a copy on my phone for awhile in case I have any trouble. He also advised me to wait a couple years then go for an expungement to clear my record. I will definitely be contacting him to take care of that for me when the time comes. Then, he proceeded to ask me if I felt I was owed any money back as I paid him upfront 10 years ago. I’m not sure if this is something he ask everyone or if he felt the need to check with me being that the case was dismissed and he ended up not having to do much. I was shocked that he would even ask such a thing. Most lawyers would’ve just kept the money and closed the book on the case. Of course, I told him no. It’s my fault it got ignored for so long and Mr. Barrera exceeded my expectations. He deserves every dime I paid him even if the case ended up being dismissed. I highly recommend him and his team for your legal needs. I read in another comment that he’s the best lawyer in Texas. From my experience, I would have to agree! So glad I found him all those years ago and kept him in my social network.
