I LOVE this school and everything it stands for. I've taken classes through other gemological schools and have learned so much more with the ISG than any of the rest of them combined. Robert truly cares about his students and goes above and beyond to make sure you succeed. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking to further their career with gemstones. It's one of the best investments I've ever made. Thank you, Robert for sharing your wealth of knowledge with all of us! So happy to be a part!

I am a registered student at The International School of Gemology, and I am taking the Registered Gemologist course. I am so glad I went with the ISG! I looked far and wide on line gemology schools, and being from Canada I was not sure which school I should join. I LOVE my course, I am floored at the the information I am learning, there is no shortage of knowledge, but not just that the course is easy enough to follow along with as I was worried I might not be able to do it from home .... I was so wrong! Anyone can study from the ISG, Robert James makes the course so easy to follow, gives you all the info you could ever need, and you can study at your leisure with no pressure! Every Wednesday there is a online class for student and graduates and oh man it is the best ever ! Robert James is just the best goes above and beyond for the students and makes you feel so comfortable and so informed! I am so glad I am a part of the International School of Gemology Community! Thanks Robert James for all you do !

After receiving my degree and several certificates from the GIA back in 1985, I decided to further my studies and branch out into Jewelry Appraisals with more under my belt than just 25 years of bench experience. I wanted the concrete facts of what I needed to see and had been seeing. I began following the “Your Gemologist” website when I got my first computer! On that site I gained deeper understanding of what I'd been taught at GIA and was able to broaden my knowledge base exponentially. A seeker at heart, I love to check new facts as I read them before committing them to memory as tools of my trade - I find it enjoyable to read how other experts describe phenomena, hidden treasures under the microscope, and all the extraneous “fun facts” and bunny trails down which new knowledge can take me. I find Mr James to be most trustworthy and accurate in his teaching and dealings with the public and ISG students. Does he get mad? Maybe. If he didn't... I wouldn’t admire him the way I do. The depravity of the industry scams surprises me daily, but scams can always be found out, when you've learned how to investigate objectively. Every member of this fine old industry should be as vigilant. I LOVE the education I received at ISG; the sum of what I'd learned back in the 80’s was a meager slice of what I needed to know in the face of all that science can now produce for the bad guys; and all the modern equipment which allows science to reveal to the good guys. I am grateful for the help that was never far away and the excellent education I got, and continue to build upon through forums and student camaraderie. Oh, and such an enormous bang for your buck… that’s pretty cool too.
