These guys know what they're doing! I was involved in a hit-and-run incident last year and was stuck in a bad situation. Never having researched or contacted a PI firm in the past, I was naturally pretty hesitant. With that said, my first interaction with S&H solidified my decision to hire them. As someone who has always believed in having a well-rounded, dynamic attorney, who can adapt to the ever-changing landscape of draconian judicial enforcement by the courts, I hired Chris in November 2020 to defend me against a DWI 1st charge by Harris County with history in another state & a prior in the 1st week of relocating to Houston from Seattle, WA. In that case, my attorney Mr. Dan S bailed on Thiessen Law Firm to pursue his own self-interest political aspirations in running as a Republican Judge for Harris County Criminal Court #8, leaving me without an Attorney for the remainder of the DPTI Diversion Program. Chris was hired by Thiessen Law Firm to pickup the remnants left behind by Mr. Dan S then in 2017-2018 & ultimately everything worked out. This time around as a Rising Star & his own Law Firm, it was a no-brainer for me to hire Chris, not only to the familiarity with my 1st case then, but as someone who I know God put in my life to guide me through the perilous trials and tribulations we often face. I also went to high school with Chris back in New Orleans & although we're 3 years apart & didn't talk much back then, he was a familiar face with the same background or pedigree as I. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as we often read in the newspapers & see on local television, the Harris County Criminal Justice System is a true mess. It took 15 months for Harris County to provide the evidence from that night & in doing so, after having a ignition interlock breathalyzer on for the duration of this time, I lost my job in the maritime industry due to financial cutbacks on Sept. 10th, 2021. I went to Tucson, AZ got intoxicated at a local UofA bar & blew into the ignition interlock breathalyzer registering a .19, thereby igniting a bond violation. On Dec. 8th, 2021, I was given a curfew from 8pm-8am reduced to home confinement & wearing an ankle bracelet monitor & court-ordered AA meetings. In acknowledging my fall from God's grace & accepting the absolute low-point of my entire life, without the ability to earn $, with accruing compounded interest on debt accumulating, I began to work the AA Program with an AA Sponsor, who has now become a very good friend. Little did I know when I entered those AA doors, would God save my Life from myself. I was very much a broken man with the weight of the world on my shoulders. I now have tools to cope, friends & immense remorse for the decisions made in my previous life. After approximately 85 days in AA, actively working to change my Life, Chris & I devised a plan going forward. Either go to Trial with under a 50% chance of winning & let this drag out for another 18 months costing time/money/uncertainty/stress/anxiety or accept a plea deal & plead guilty to a DWI 1st, get 1 year of Probation, Community Service Hours, Drug/Alcohol Class, Defensive All-Day Driving Class, Pay more exorbitant fines/fees costs trying to work around a job with little to no care/concern from the Probationary System as I have learned from the past. However, there was 1 other long shot option, the "Hail Mary" option. I call it the "Miracle" option that worked out to where I ultimately pled guilty to a DWI 1st & ultimately no fines/fees & everything is now over. No $270 Court Fee Cost. No $3,000 Tiered-Out over 3 years through DPS Texas' State Statute. No $504 for ankle bracelet fees. I truly & firmly believe God works through certain people & helped Chris make this happen. I am forever grateful for Chris' honesty, integrity, support, friendship & there was no other person on this planet I wanted to go into battle with. He is very smart, tactical, understanding, responsive, empathetic, honest & just an all around good guy. Chris will lead you to the Promised Land if you make the wise decision of hiring him.
