I am African and recently moved to the US. My ex-spouse filed for divorce about a year after my move and the case lasted almost two years. I was introduced to Uzo Mokolo after I was battered and beaten prior to and at the temporary hearing. The previous lawyer I had compromised and kept back all the evidence I provided to her at the temporary hearing. She reached agreements on my behalf without consulting me. I began checking my rights and privileges on Google when she told me I cannot see my children without any court order to that effect. They tormented me and I became depressed. At some point I thought I won't make it out alive. I knew very little about the US legal system and has never been involved or know anyone that has gone through the divorce process before. With Uzo Mokolo, everything changed. Her response to the first letter they wrote to torment me lifted my spirit and even though the respondent has little control on the process, she was there to assist and guide me through the process. She put a stop to frivolous extensions by the opposing counsel (OC). I guess the OC was using this to accumulate legal fee that would be charged to my asset that has been sold by the court. Issues came up about previously owned assets, extended family-owned company and inheritances in Africa. Uzo's familiarity with that environment really helped countered false narratives by the opposing party during trial. Even though a lot of damages has already been done to my case by the previous lawyer, I am grateful I got to Uzo Mokolo. While I am not an advocate for divorce, I strongly recommend Mokolo Law Firm if you find yourself in this situation. Uzo is a professional to the core and not after what she can make from you. Let me also add that she is very beautiful, has a good heart and is very caring. Thank you Uzo.
