Mark Lazarz got the job done. I'm a lawyer, but the lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client. Before I hired Mark myself, I long referred executives to him. I'd worked opposite Mark on a case. He earned my referrals. Now I remember why!

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Todd Slobin and his office. I went through a very emotional situation, and Todd was there the entire way to support me and fight for my rights. He made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and every response was timely and helpful. Updates were given consistently and there was never a time where I felt concerned or unsure about Todd's ability to get me to the best outcome possible, which he did. He has your absolute best interest in mind at all times and doesn't just want another "win", he wants what is best for you in the long run. I could not be happier with my experience working with Todd, and although I hope I never need his help again, I would be thrilled to get to have him fight for me because I know he will do a fantastic job.

Todd Slobin is an excellent attorney and a good person. During stressful moments, and in the face of difficult situations, Todd demonstrated a high level of professionalism, understanding, work ethic, skilled dialogue and negotiation, compassion and, above all, empathy.
Sometimes catastrophic events happen in our lives, completely unexpected. That is when you need the appropriate advice and the evaluation of all available options to resolve the situation. In these difficult circumstances, there is no doubt that Todd will know how to help, not only you, but also your family.
If you want to resolve a complicated situation in a peaceful but firm manner, and continue moving forward, Todd Slobin is an excellent option to achieve that goal.

I want to clarify that I am not a client and that this review is solely based on my interactions as person seeking representation and/or consultation.
Based on their other reviews, I do not doubt that they have competent attorneys. The firm appeared interested in my case but, I felt like I was about to be sold a lemon at a high premium. Their administrative team must have a sales background because that’s the vibe I received which felt like a red flag for me.
The office however did respond to my inquiry in a timely manner, and some firms won’t even respond and so that says a lot about their work ethics and willingness to take action in my opinion.
I received two different consultation fee prices. It seems there’s a misalignment however on pricing structure.
Their retainer fee is very high in my opinion for my type of case. The structure offered to me basically only covered pre-litigation negotiation and helping fill out an EEOC form, which I know how to do on my own and I’m already aware of the process. The structure also required me to pay an additional retainer and new contract if litigation was required and the terms of the litigation representation was not disclosed. Since I really wanted to be able to use one attorney pre-litigation and during litigation, it was not a structure that seemed feasible to me.
I would have much rather rate them as a 3, but this would really be based on my opinion of their fee structure being too expensive and the feeling that I was being sold to rather than being offered representation from a strong law firm. However, it would be unfair for me to do that based on my limited interaction.
I have not disclosed the pricing because I see based on other reviews they don’t extend consistent pricing. I also believe pricing is a business decision and companies have the right to offer different pricing options at their disposal. However, I felt the price offered to me was purely based on my salary. That’s just my intuition and I don’t want to be treated as a cash cow.
This firm may be helpful to some, but I did not engage because of the things I mentioned. I did consider paying for a consult to at least get additional legal points of view but, when I told them the retainer was too high and I might only get a consultation then received a revised consultation fee, I opted not too. There are a few firms that will offer free consultations and work on contingency, albeit those consultation are usually not as thorough as a paid consultation, but I knew I had a case and there were other firms interested and so I was able to leverage the free consultations and be okay. I do think paid consultations are worth it however if you aren’t sure. I’ve used legal services before and there’s definitely a difference in review when it’s a paid consultation.
I notice many firms reply to reviews that don’t necessarily praise them high saying they have never engaged with the person. Well that’s likely because most people don’t put their full legal name on their review account for privacy and safety reasons. All that to say, this is not a false review. I also believe it is a fair review based on my individual experience.

Subject: Concerns Regarding Representation
Dear Shellist, Lazarz, and Slobin LLP,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the recent developments in my case against my former employer.
When I initially engaged your firm, I believed in the expertise and reputation that preceded you. Unfortunately, as events unfolded, I found myself increasingly concerned about the direction and approach taken in handling my case.
The lack of action and what seemed like a passive strategy in addressing the substantial grievances I raised against my former employer left me disheartened. Given the gravity of the issues at hand, I had anticipated a more assertive stance to be taken on my behalf.
Furthermore, the recent discussions surrounding a mere $5,000 settlement offer were distressing. This offer doesn't accurately reflect the extent of the harm I've endured due to alleged discrimination and retaliation. I firmly believe that my rights and interests should have been pursued more vigorously.
However, what particularly concerns me is the situation related to my former employer and their potential bankruptcy. Given the ongoing rumors, I feel it was crucial that we pursue a Summary Judgment on my behalf before any bankruptcy filing. This would have secured my claim in the bankruptcy proceedings, allowing for a more favorable resolution of my case. Instead, your firm decided to withdraw after I elected not to accept the $5,000. To be blunt, I feel as though your firm wanted to make a quick buck out of my case instead of putting in the work for my best interest.
I understand that legal strategies can be intricate, and I respect the complexities your team faces. However, the lack of effective communication, proactive efforts, and consideration of potential outcomes in my case have left me deeply dissatisfied with the representation I received.
It's especially troubling that I now have just 60 days to find new counsel due to your firm's withdrawal from my case. This compressed timeline exacerbates the challenges of an already difficult situation. As I search for new representation, I can't help but wonder about the potential opportunities that may have been missed during our time working together.
I wanted to convey these concerns in the hope that they might lead to a reevaluation of your approach in future cases. Effective representation is about not only legal expertise but also actively advocating for the client's best interests.
Thank you for your time and consideration. If you're open to discussing these matters further, I would welcome the opportunity.
