If you’re needing representation please go some where else. I am a father who had been alienated from is kids by his ex wife. I was eating saltine crackers to get get by. I really needed help. Instead of standing in the gap they took advantage. Just read the reviews. Same story over and over. They hire unprofessional lawyers. Charge extremely high fees for even talking/emailing. They took my retainer………………… that’s it,. They said they did hours of review on my case. But again not seeing the value. They are a big law firm that does not value broken fathers. Do your self a favor and find a little guy. He probably needs the money and will spend the time you need on your case.

My experience with Woodfill Law in Houston, TX has been profoundly disappointing. Their communication leaves much to be desired, often making it feel like obtaining a response from them is more challenging than one might imagine. The high turnover among their paralegals only reinforces my concerns, suggesting that issues extend beyond the surface. It's apparent that the company's effectiveness is closely tied to its leadership. With a Facebook rating of 2.3 and a Google review score that has barely reached 3.1 stars, coupled with a sudden surge in positive reviews in less than 48 hours, it's difficult to overlook the suspicion of potentially fabricated reviews from acquaintances. For those contemplating Woodfill Law's services or currently engaged with them, I wish you luck, and I hope your journey through the legal system is more merciful. It almost seems as though a pet rock would be a more suitable choice for handling legal matters, given the frustrating experience I've encountered with this firm. Their willingness to take advantage of a desperate single mother in a custody case is reprehensible. Moreover, their recurring promise to "call you in 1-2 days with more information" often masks their apparent lack of progress, accompanied by charges for services that remain undone, and their attempts to create something out of nothing. What's even more astonishing is that I was forthright in expressing my willingness to allocate additional funds to the case. All I sought were answers and a clear direction forward. I find myself thoroughly let down by the services provided. During the waiting period for their promised call within "1-2 days," I had the opportunity to consult with other attorneys who provided more legal advice and guidance, even after offering to pay more. For anyone reading this, I strongly recommend you question why a company you're considering doing business with has as many 1-star reviews as 5-star ones. Reading through the reviews, it becomes evident that the 5-star ratings are likely inauthentic attempts to rectify their reputation. I wish the best for the talented employees at Woodfill Law who may seek opportunities elsewhere, given the tarnished reputation as evident in the reviews and my own experiences. To conclude, I anticipate their response will be along the lines of "Sorry, we don't have records of your client status; please call us to resolve any issues." While this is speculative, it remains to be seen if they can address these concerns effectively.

Warning run don’t walk! This law firm I hired or thought I hired and paid the retainer amount that I was told would kickstart my representation left me with nothing but empty pockets and zero callbacks, I cannot get anybody to represent me and I’ve paid the retainer! It’s the most insanely crooked, horrible Law Firm I can’t even believe they are still in business. What’s worse is they know how, crucial me having representation is in my custody case with my children, I didn’t read the reviews until after I sent the retainer and I wish I would’ve. I would probably have my children home with me right now, no, I would absolutely already have my children home. When these people finally answer the phone the only thing they talk about is how I need to send more money because I’ve already went through my retainer by speaking to each other about a case that they’re not gonna do anything about. You’ve been warned. Now I am reporting these people to the state bar. I hope these folks rot in hell.

I wanted to let folks know not to waste your time and money on Woodfill Lawfirm. They had no problem taking my $5000 for my divorce, but have a real problem following through with the case. I am divorced, and should've already been paid! They are holding onto two checks over $20,000 each! I have been trying to get ahold of my paralegal for over a month! Every time I call they say," Sorry, Karen's on vacation." I told them you tell me she's been on vacation every time I call! The receptionist says," Maam, no she's been on vaction for 2 wks.I have neen calling since June. I guess every 2 wks her vacation is extended. I get transferred to accounting only to get rushed off the phone by the accountant. She too said," Karen will be back tomorrow." I decided to call someone who use to work there only to be told," Woodfill law firm is notorious for robbing Peter to pay Paul!" wow, ok looks like my next move is to contact all the news stations and give them the info they need to protect the public from crooks like this! I have asked to speak to Jared Woodfill several times; only to be told a ton of excuses. I would not recommend Woodfill. My case was suppose to be wrapped up; only to find out that there's still signatures that have to be signed! The client shouldn't have to chase down their money, nor wait months for a return answer. I also want to mention that I was told that Karen had someone filling in for her while on her vacation. She has no one taking over while she's on a 2wk vacation that really has been going on over 1month. Like I said the staff is rude, and seems to pass the buck to the next person every time I have called about my money. I was told to contact the bar, make a complaint. Really? Is that what it takes to get get business done? Ridiculous! Why won't Mr. Jared Wood fill call me? You had no problem taking my $5000. I asked the receptionist if she passed the message to Jared Woodfill. She replied, "Yes I did," So, Jared Woodfill is aware that I have left over 10 messages, but is blowing me off to rob Peter to pay Paul? I am pissed. What Woodfill is doing is agaist the law! Mr, Woodfill, can you please call me. I know your sweet, courteous has passed the message to you, but just incase you're not getting them.. S.O.S. Getting a divorce is already stressful enough! Now I have to chase down a so called professional firm! This is unacceptable!

These guys are nice and responsive to get your $$$$. Once they have it you won’t hear from them. I’ve been trying to get a refund for 60 days, complete disaster.
