Let me start by saying I wanted to give them two stars but, friendly voices at LeagalEase are good enough for me unlike the more than 100 reviews I read here from people that gave them a 5-star rating. My understanding is they've recently rebranded. Could it be that their reputation is so poor they had to? Appears as though they have earned a mediocre reputation and the mediocre reviews here. Read on. Here's the bottom line: If you need immediate legal help DO NOT USE LegalEase! You MUST pay for a consultation and get a lawyer on retainer ASAP! Otherwise, you'll find yourself in a situation where you are facing a hearing and/or default judgment before you can actually acquire legal representation. Trusting LegalEase to get the ball rolling is the mistake I made as did numerous other people apparently, whose scathing reviews you'll read here also. Unlike the reviews that laud praise on LegalEase for the people with friendly voices on the phone there, I'm going to be completely honest. Look carefully at these so-called 5-star reviews. They appear fraudulent to me. They lack any detail of satisfying outcomes. If you choose to roll the dice and try LegalEase my advice is to use their lawyer directory to find a lawyer/s. Call at least 5 or 6 lawyers and verify they are a participating practice. Once you've found the lawyer you want, pay them out of pocket for the consult and retainer and then file a claim with LegalEase if that's even possible. The benefits won't even come close to covering actual legal fees for contested divorce, divorce with children, custody suits, criminal defense, or any other contested legal matter you can think of. Don't make the mistake I did. If you're still reading this, my story mirrors that of others here who've left 2-star or lower ratings. I only wish I had read a review like mine before engaging this "service provider." Because of their inefficacy, dithering, and dereliction I nearly lost custody of my kids. I cursed myself for being so naive and for not exercising due diligence. Time was of the essence for me but, that was absolutely of no concern to LegalEase. What's worse is after more than a week, when they finally got around to matching me, the attorney they pointed me to must have been working out of broom closet or the back room of an Asian Nail Salon. Actually, I would have been happy to have been matched with an Attorney as good as "Better Call Saul." I was constantly calling back and forth between the attorney and LegalEase. It was like the right hand didn't know what the left was doing over there. Other lawyers I located on my own and spoke to seemed exasperated by their experience with them as well. By the time all of the referral paperwork was sent/received, and intake paperwork was filed I was effectively out of time. Ironically, the attorney I was matched with never called me back to schedule a consultation! Seriously, the disclaimer I wrote in the 2nd paragraph of this review should be the disclaimer on LegalEase's website. You don't pay much for this service but, all things considered, you get what you pay for. I might consider using them for something like estate planning or some other non-urgent legal matter. If I do, expect another review!
