I'm about to sign up for Texas LawShield, but I wanted to leave my feedback on my secondhand knowledge/feedback that I have gotten from family and friends that I would trust with my life. I first learned about Texas LawShield when I took the class/course to obtain my Concealed Handgun License in Texas. I personally know ten individuals that have been members of Texas LawShield for years, four of which have had to use their services when they have been in unfortunate situations that required their (Texas LawShield) assistance. Each of the four individuals stated that they received superb service during a very difficult time. With that being said, I wanted to comment on Kathy's post as nothing she mentioned had anything to do with Texas LawShield or with the services they offer. When an individual requires assistance because they have been attacked, stalked, harassed or threatened with bodily harm, they should seek assistance from the local law enforcement in the city that the crime was committed in. The victims of the aforementioned acts of crimes shouldn’t even reach out to Texas LawShield for advice in the matters because all they (Texas LawShield) can do (and will do) is direct you to speak with local law enforcement as that is their (local law enforcement) job. I don't think Kathy understands the purpose Texas LawShield or other similar institutions. Not to mention Kathy indicates that she is considering the use of a firearm in advance/future, which could be viewed as premeditated and she could face prosecution if the situation does not require the use of deadly force. Additionally, the post from Nancy speaking about her fiancé’s experience applying/interviewing for a job at the Texas LawShield call center should not hold weight on the quality of services rendered. Using this forum to air her grievances or making a complaint over the hiring process has no relation to their ability to help in a legal situation or the quality of other services offered by the company, even if you are looking at it from a customer service standpoint as her fiancé is not paying for or receiving services from Texas LawShield. That said, I'm looking forward to becoming a member of Texas LawShield; however, I hope that I will never need a reason to use their services, but I'm looking forward to the peace of mind I will have if I find myself in an undesirable situation that requires their help. As a new member I am giving a Four Star rating for now. I am an OTR Driver and though I do not Carry while on the road due to Company policy and frequent trips to Canada I was interested in reading what “Coverage” I was buying and was disappointed to find no Policy or Coverage Statement available on the Member Portal. The Chat contact directed me to Terms and Conditions Statement which turned out to explain just that. The “Terms of Use” with little or no explanation of the product one could expect to receive should they need it. I was also looking for a Library that would allow me to review what services TxUSLS offered by State. The young man (Jaylon) who answered at the Customer Service number was helpful and informed me that one is able to call in advance of a planned trip to find out what the Carry regulations are in a State they would be entering on their trip. He suggests this be done at least a week prior to traveling.That’s awkward. In my case I often don’t even know where I am going until I am dispatched a load. It also does nothing to address what exactly I can expect from US LawShield when TSHTF beyond the information contained in the promotional materials. Perhaps this will be improved on in time. -Bill W.

I have had no problem with their service.

As a retired police officer I researched a lot of the competition and kept coming to LawShield. It is by far the more superior product compared to the rest. After having attended a couple of their seminars and workshops, I can tell you from my experience that their attorneys are top notch. Should you need to use them you’re not just getting “an attorney”.

I recently went to a seminar and met Sgt Mcgrath and was told that he was here to help. I have had numerous issues with both the Dallas and Garland Police Departments not doing their jobs. I had 2 people in one month illegally enter my apartment in Dallas and the police did NOTHING. Thiis person was STILL AT MY PROPERTY when Dallas Police arrived, the was actually damaging property when they got here. This week a person making verbal threats to me at my job, threatening to kill me and leaving threatening voice mails at my job. I pressed charges and The Garland police did NOTHING. They found this man and did not arrest him. They came back to my office and told me this was a CIVIL matter!!!! Sgt McGrath told me if I had any issues to call him, and I did. He did not return my call. The Texas Law shield says for a fee monthly and you have to use a weapon that all you have to do is call them and a lawyer will answer the phone. I was going to get shooting lesson and sign up for this but now I am worried that I would sit in jail and get no return call. If this kind of thing happens and people can get away it. So if I use a gun what will happen to me?!

Called for a firearms legal question, on more than one occasion, and was told a lawyer would call me within 48-72 hours. NEVER A CALL BACK!!! Their SERVICE SUCKS!!! Disappointing. While their offering (marketed service) seems like a great deal, there is NOTHING that leads me to believe they would actually support me or, you, in a serious crisis. If you’re reading this to leverage your decision to join this USELESS group, I wouldn’t waste my time, or money. I’ve been a member for over two years, (I am going to cancel) and I can confidently say that they haven’t produced/proven/shown the slightest bit of value to me.
