DISCLAIMER: This review is way more overdue, I am just now getting time to write it. 2 stars because he did get my case dismissed. Other than that, not a good attorney IN MY OPINION. Here is why: I hired Edward to represent me with my Criminal Mischief charge which occurred in August of 2018. In the beginning, Edward was phenomenal! Amazing communication, guaranteed that I was going to get the case dismissed since it was my first offense. Time went by and my case KEPT getting reset. I lost my job because I had to call out of work for court so many times and I could not get another one because of the open charge on my background report. After a while, Edward stopped communicating with me, he would only call me the day before our court date and request payments. Then when I would get to court, It wouldn't even be him that was showing up to represent me! It would be another assistant from his firm. This stretched out all the way from August up until the beginning of January 2019. So my boyfriend decided to contact the DA himself and speak with the prosecutor since the state ended up picking up the charges anyways. She notified my boyfriend that all I had to do was take an anger management course to drop the charges and she had notified my attorney of this BACK IN AUGUST, exactly a week after the incident occurred. When i found this out I was highly upset because Edward could have just told me that instead of constantly resetting the case! Again, I was turned down from several high paying jobs because of the open case on my background report. So the final day that we went to court, he told me that if I didn't pay him a certain amount that he would have to step down from representing me. When we got to court, he sent his assistant in to speak with me and he requested the money. I told his assistant that I was highly disappointed in Edward and that I wanted to speak with him after finding everything out. I did not speak to his assistant in a nasty tone but a very firm one. He then called Edward who got on the phone with me and began to YELL at me because he was under the impression that I already had an attitude. Edward insisted that he did notify me of the anger management course (which he did not because I would've been taken it, got another job and been able to pay him in full), then called me a liar after I insisted that he did not tell me and he began to recite his track record in dismissals like that was supposed to disprove that fact that he hadn't notified me about the class. No matter what, the type of woman I am, I was going to find a way to pay Edward because if you represent me legally, and do your job, I owe you and anyone who knows me knows that I believe in karma so why would I not pay? After the threats over the phone, I then told him that I did not want him to represent me anymore because it's one thing as an attorney to yell at your client, but to call them a liar is another thing. ""𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘰𝘰". You could've just accepted the fact that maybe you forgot to notify me of the class, instead you would rather scream at me and belittle me. I had so much faith in Edward as an attorney and he let me down. Edward, even your aggressive responses to some of your client's less than ideal reviews on here shows your character overall. YOU NEED TO DIRECT YOUR AGGRESSION IN COURT, NOT TOWARDS THE PEOPLE WHO HIRE YOU. I would think as a "Professional" that you would understand that with everyone you represent, not everyone is obligated to feel like your services are satisfactory. Instead of trying to offer your apologies to those less than happy with your work, you would rather demean them and threaten them with lawsuits for "defamation of character" when in fact they are just stating their opinions. I wish the best for you and your practice Edward, I just suggest that you switch your approach in regards to your clients.
