We contacted Mr. Cotlar's office because our son was facing some potentially serious criminal charges. Mr. Cotlar scheduled a consultation with us right away. He was very knowledgeable, straightforward and down to earth in his approach with our son. We had no previous experience with the criminal justice system so Mr. Cotlar explained the process and everything that we could expect. Dorian is a true hearted and honest man. He just happened to the last lawyer available for my case in the court room. The judge asked if he'd take it and did! Dorian seemingly caught a raw deal in retrospect. But he fought for every inch that he helped me with, financially as well. I listened and trusted him. Did everything he asked of me and he made the impossible, possible! He worked for me harder than any court appointed ever would. He sees no difference between a client who pays or an appointed client. I have to click hired on this review so that I can post it. He was a appointed to me by the courts. Don't speak ill will of this man. He's the epitome of a man. Don't sell him short or doubt, just listen.

Dorian is readily available, a reliable communicator, very well connected and respected in the local legal community among his peers. He gives reassuring advice to his clients that he is able to back up with a professional reputation that reassures his peers that his recommendations are sound. Whether operating in a for-fee or Public Defender capacity Dorian is on-point. My dealings with him were on a private consultation basis and his attention and recommendations were second-to-none. The person who recommended Dorian to me was one of Dorian's PD clients who was facing impossible odds of escaping jail time owing to his record and charge. Thanks to Dorian's experience and reputation, he was able to get the initial offer of several years incarceration reduced to a Community Supervision order and deferment. Nothing short of a miracle. Because of who he is, how he conducts himself, the amount of time he has served the local legal community, he literally gave someone their life back. Can't say anything better than that.

We could not have been more fortunate than to locate Dorian Cotlar. For an indefensible felony offense he secured Probation from the Court with deferred adjudication and later managed to have the probation conditions mitigated favorably.
