Before I found Shields Law I felt helpless and completely broken. As a mother of a child who's special needs, all I want is for my son to have the same opportunities as every one else. I contacted plenty of law firms but no one could help me because they were not educated or didn't specialize in special education law. Finding Shields Law truly was a God send. They listened, empathized, talked us through the best route for our case, they were very easy to get ahold of but most importantly they fought hard for my son. There was never a time where we didn't know what was going on. Andrea is who we worked with, words can't describe how safe she made us feel and how strong she is. She will definitely fight for you. Kodi, she was amazing. She kept us up to date about everything and me being terrible at checking my email, she'd call to inform us about emails we missed. Her communication helped us stay on top of everything. I am so thankful to have found Shields Law and to have worked with the people I did. To any parent who's trying to seek help when it comes to special education rights, 10 out of 10 I recommend shields law.

I’m truly puzzled by these positive reviews because my experience has been far from great. Initially, everything seemed fine during the early discussions and payments back in March. However, it’s now September, and I’ve heard nothing about the status of my case, despite sending MULTIPLE inquiries to follow up. The only response I received was in June, after persistently trying to reach Trey, who assured me that my case would be prioritized. Since then, all my attempts to get an update have been ignored. Now, I’ve paid in full with no progress to show for it. I’m really surprised by these 5-star reviews. Surely others are facing similar issues, or maybe it’s just me.

Andrea Koch of Shields really helped me get the result I wanted for my child’s IEP update with more detail and options than I would have ever known to request. Andrea was so personally committed to the case that she showed up for our virtual meeting despite being without power following the May 2024 derecho storm.
