What should have been an easy case (words used by Rebecca Wheeler) turned into over a year of chaos for my children and for myself due to the ineptitude of Rebecca Wheeler of Corbin and Associates. She failed to file 3 separate motions after assuring me that she would, did not return my or the guardian ad litem's phone calls or emails for weeks, and literally shook like a leaf when she spoke to the judge. She allowed my ex-husband's attorney to control the entire case. I had to request and pay for a guardian ad litem so that she could make recommendations to the judge as my attorney was incapable of making a case. She never requested discovery from my ex yet allowed my medical and financial records to be required without an argument. My ex had five separate CPS complaints filed against him from educators and medical professionals in a one week period and she never even brought it up in court. During the final hearing, she barely spoke and the judge had to educate her in regards to geographical restrictions. I asked her why she did nothing to make my case and she said "When should I have brought these things up?" Anytime during the hearing would have been great. She was so shaken by her interactions with the judge that she forgot to bring up the money that my ex owed for the medical care of the kids. When I asked about that, she told me that I could always file for that separately. I "won" my case, because it truly couldn't have gone any other way, but it cost my children months of pain and tens of thousands of dollars. Also, I didn't hire Rebecca Wheeler. I met with and retained a different attorney within the firm and they so kindly switched me to a different attorney without asking for my approval.

My story is the same as most ... sons father ran off with my child didnt even pay child support and was told by ashley clapper that he was in his right to take my child and that him not paying child support was not in contingent with anything ... so now my child is i dknt know where because he gave two different address lied in court .... i have primary residential custody i am military ... the judge gave me a geographical restriction with me being military and ex husband has no job ... only receiving va benefits ... and he runs off with my son ... and i call ashley clapper and she does nothing but say if i try to tale him to court he could try to get full custody ... stay away from this law firm they are the worse i have ever dealt with .... 1500 for contested and i had to pay for the dna test that my ex who ran off with my child asked for ...

If there was a choice to be negative it would be that. I had Ashley Clapper and Dan Corbin for about three years for a divorce and custody case. I have never been treated with respect there. They never call back, always seem like they are being rushed to get you in and out, all they care about is money! My ex husband assaulted me and Ashley forgot to submit the assault into evidence for our final court date, they would never file anything when my ex would run away and not bring my daughter back I had to go to the district of attorney to have them file a warrant, what lawyer forgets to do something so important as that! All she said was that it didn't matter that the judge was a mothers judge. Need I say I lost my daughter. Please find someone better than these people that work here! I wish I would have went to someone else long ago, but they promise you things that they wont and cant keep, they loose papers and they don't look into your case like they are truly there to help you! They are the biggest mistake I have EVER made!

I had him as my attorney and he had one of his staff members name JENETTA handling my case. I received my settlement and asked her several times was she for sure and she said yes. I was so happy told the boss Mr Corbin office manager how good she was and little did I know it would come back and bite me in my buttocks. She have me oweing 17,000 and they got 14,000 for themselves did you see what I said. Yep i'm having to pay the insurance 17,000 back i'm getting garnished every month. I am on a set income. I came out with nothing I had sugery on my spine suffered and got nothing but 1,600 for PIP. And when I told Mr. Corbin about it's like too bad. They reaped the rewards she, JENETTA told him I rushed her but she was the attorney. She couldn't get a copy of a bill and I got it for her, thats not rushing, frankly she doesnt know her job. She supposed to been the one that should have known what she was doing. Look like I should have been refunded something from their part but I got nothing. I WOULDN'T recommend them to no one. Mr. Corbin has retired and seems to care less. How did they keep their 14,000 which was almost half and I was stuck with paying. Dont go there you will be left owing and thats a true fact sad very sad. I was kicked like a dog and don't know who to turn too but I can tell the public. I am part of a military family they are not for the soldiers its all about what they can get for themselves. Very hurt and left oweing 17,000 dollars Ruth Jackson

Honest when it comes to saying if they can do anything for your case or not. And if they don't they guide you in the right direction.

Avoid this firm. J Stapler was dishonest and had no interest in actually knowing the law pertaining to my case. He was unoriginal and his defense strategy was basically pathetic. My attorney wife had to show him the law since he failed to look it up himself and then he got angry and acted pretty childish in his office. I thank God every day I didn't go through a jury trial with James Berry Stapler representing me.
