Hiring don was the biggest mistake we could have ever made for a criminal case. He should not be working as an attorney in 2022.
You will have to yell into his hearing aid 3+ times for him to understand a simple statement you make! He is rude and does not care about his clients. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!
It was too late for us and he did not fight for us during our court hearing. Took the first deal, took his money from us, closed the case, and left us to suffer! He said if you need more help, we need more money but we cant help. This man should have his license revoked. He is too old to practice. He will not help you.

I hired Don Stewart for a family law issue that had been lingering on for over a year. Prior to hiring Don, I spent an outrageous amount of money with a different attorney that did not show me ANY results.. Don picked up my case in the middle of what was a nightmare. He was very respectful, and affordable. I have had to hire an attorney on a few separate occasions.. This was the first time that I can say I walked away not feeling completely taken advantage of. Great job Mr. Stewart.. My wife, and I are grateful for your handling of our case...

Attorney Don R. Stewart in Arlington Texas may have financial trouble. I sued him in court and won. I still was unable to collect my judgment because he owed the IRS and several others. He even owed the Yellow Pages for advertising fees. Clients beware; your retainer may not be used to pay his overhead and payroll before he does anything on your case, but should go into a seperate account. Do your due diligence and look up county records. All liens and judgments against him are public record. I will likely never collect, but hopefully can help someone else. I could go on with what I know about him, but have no desire to hurt his reputation. I can't speak on his ability as an attorney because he never did anything. My goal is to educate others to avoid unnecessary grief. To protect yourself: Look up attorney using county public records, Have the attorney sign a contract, Require the attorney to give you a monthly statement of charges. Please note: Your attorney is not allowed to use your retainer fee until the work has been performed. An attorney delinquent on debts may still practice in the state of Texas as long as it’s not child support, they can owe the IRS, but must have payment plan.
