If I could give this guy negative stars, I would. He doesn’t even deserve 1 star. He is pure scum and will screw you out of all your money and do NOTHING for your case over the course of about 2 years. We spent well over $20,000 grand at this firm and it was all for nothing. They made us sign an agreement that we would pay them 500$ each month, and on top of that would ask for huge lump sums of money randomly from us. Switch our layer 3 times without ANY notice whatsoever. Was charging $80 for each email, whenever they would actually respond. Oh, and he has been punished by the state bar previously for hold his employees at gun point and putting bags over their heads. We also reported him and his firm to the state bar. Please save your money and don’t waste it on this firm. We almost lost everything trying to pay these people when in the end we did better as Pro-se!! All of our savings are gone, thanks to this guy and his firm. We will probably never fully recover financially from the hole they put us in.

Over 50k spent for excessive mistakes and errors that cost us not only time but also what appears to be the loss of our home due to the negligence of Joshua Carpenter as Senior Advising attorney to Ty Hampton. Careless mistakes such as not meeting filing deadlines, filing the wrong types of documents, filing the wrong type of case, advised to not follow a judges scheduling order, not filing documents for the one and one court date and on and on. As a result of this firms actions, we are in the midst of an eviction case and we purchased the house cash - all the documents to prove it as well. The opposing council advised the JUDGE in eviction court that Joshua Carpenters firm committed malpractice! It is on the record!

At the time that I hired Josh Carpenter’s firm, I had already been working with another attorney.. And although the other attorney was a lot cheaper, it was very stressful because the cheaper attorney refused to answer any of my legal questions… Even when I told him that I was willing to pay more money to get my questions answered, the cheaper attorney said that he did not offer that.. More than anything, I just needed to know where I stand so that I could get a piece of mind.. Everything was moving so slowly that I called my uncle who was a retired attorney, and he mentioned that I go to Avvo to see if they can recommend an attorney who would be able to get my questions answered and maybe work a little faster.. Within a day or two of posting my request for an attorney on Avvo, I was able to talk to and meet with Josh Carpenter and his associates.. Although it cost me a little bit more money, I felt a lot more at ease because I was able to finally get the answers that I had been looking for.. Had the opposition not appealed, it would have been over and done with, but they tried to drag it out for as long as they could just to stick it to me.. They took me to court twice, but everything went in my favor.. And it was all thanks to Josh Carpenter and his associates representing me at the court hearings.. Though I wish everything could have been cheaper, overall, I am happy with how things turned out… and most importantly, I am now able to move forward with my life because this is all behind me..

I have a case an immigration case with Carpenter and ASSociates and let me share my story... Last year the firm made an attempt to expand their immigration practice. At that time, I chose the firm due to what they claim to be publicically thru their commercials and at that time, speaking to someone by phone that seemed dedicated to helping me with the case to get my husband to the US. I decided to work with the firm and a WONDERFUL LAW team Gustavo and Natalia were very attentive and on point and walked me thru the process and filed the i130 for me in September 2022. They were professional and made sure I had everything done correctly as I should and then it became a waiting game from there. I got a call every month just keeping ne in the loop. If I had a question, it was answered within 12 to 24 hours. They even worked as "coun Elora when I had issues and talked to me with understanding. Then in 2023...I found an email from Gustavo that he was parting ways with the company. Then soon after an email was sent by the firm, a certified letter and a regular letter that stated they were no longer working with Gustavo and they parted ways amicably. They gave me choices on what I can do...choose to stay with them, continue working with Gustavo or find another firm. They stated I would not get my money back being I paid for services IN FULL at this time. Part if the money was a fee that goes to either the state or is some fee for part of this process as needed which is about 1500 I think. In total I paid 7500 for this service. They asked that I respond via email about my decision in which I wrote a lengthy email about my dissatisfaction of HOW this was done. Based on their words regarding customer focus...nothing about this process had ME in mind and this is a very serious situation. No one responded to my email but a paralegal who knows NOTHING. The owner or anyone supposedly credible did not bother to reach out to me to regarding my concerns. On August 1st the embassy sent me an email to tell me an action was taken on my case. I could not see it via my log in and Carpenter law firm is listed on my file as the firm to communicate with as well which means there is a separate log in they have from me to see what happened. I called. Talked to the parralegal...she asked for my log in in and I did not give it to her because they should have theirs. I called again later in the day and she said still no word from lawyer with my case. I eventually got into my case and saw I was approved. A full day later, not a word from the firm and the paralegal said they do not have the log in info to the embassy portal to my case. At this point...Carpenter is better suited for the criminals they defend or whatever else they do because immigration was a swing and they missed. This is serious as it involves me and my husband's life. I was pregnant and lost my child and he wasn't here to be with me so ANYTHING going on with our case is top priority to me. The lawyer that was apart of the firm was truly the BEST. Considering they did not offer any of my money back to go towards another lawyer or to pay the lawyer they let go so I could stay with him was definitely a money issue because they gave me choices I could nake on my own but will NOT pay a new fee when Carpenter was paid and as a FIRM have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I am very dissapointed because they have zero competence and do not adhere to the words they claim to be as a firm. I could have done the form on my own but I am not in the habit of falling in love with people in other countries and going thru such a process. I still know nothing about what happens next nor am I being educated on it. As of today...I have heard from noone with actual knowledge since they released the immigration practice in May 2023.

As a victim of domestic abuse who is eager to evict her abuser, to say that I was in fear of my life would be an understatement… Although I hired Josh Carpenter, my attorney, to evict my abuser, it was not winning my case, and getting my abuser out which concerned me the most.. What I was most afraid of was the wrath that I would have to face once my abuser realized that he would have to leave my home, and would no longer be in control of any part me… For a long time, I lived my life walking on eggshells, ever so careful not to set him off… It was not until last December, when one of his hidden microphones overheard my guests talking about him in a manner that displeased him, he burst into the house and threw a box of heavy objects in their direction… That was the first time that he gave us a glimpse — a small glimpse of his capabilities… Immediately I left and never turned back.. For the most part he was fine, but it was just those rare moments that we could not Foresee what could actually happen — that we were most in fear of. The first attorney that I hired was completely hands off… He had an eviction package… Which I feel was better suited for the common landlord evicting his tenants in a normal everyday, non-life-threatening situation.. but my situation was different… And so my family urged me to find another attorney, which would be more hands-on… Luckily, the ABA put me in touch with Josh Carpenter and his law firm… Immediately, I knew I was in good hands… Knowing that he had a background as an investigator, who specialized in domestic abuse, he explained to me things that I could never understand before… I am so different from my abuser that nothing made sense and I could never foresee anything which had unfolded, and so going forward, I felt like I was completely blind and in the dark I really never know what to expect, and even though we were victorious in court and the judge granted us the eviction, I felt even more anxious and afraid because I knew that my abuser would now be very very angry.. he has never lost before, and I’m sure that he did not expect to lose that day… My abuser has always gotten away with everything… Hundreds of horrible things that he did to me and I was always too afraid to do anything about it because of my legal status.. During the appeals trial, the judge was very taken by my abuser… And if not for legal guidelines which constrain judges from excessive trailblazing, perhaps my abuser would have been triumphant that day… For what probably should have been a half hour appeals hearing, ran over an hour and a half.. after the hearing was when I felt the most vulnerable… Because I knew that my abuser would be so very furious… And so it meant so much to me that even after the hearing, that Josh Carpenter and his team did not drop me like a hot potato.. they continued to check on me and to make sure that I was safe and that I felt safe and was doing the right things… They had convinced me that a stayaway order was the right thing to do —even if it would anger my abuser… That if used correctly, it can be life-saving, as in my situation… And though I know that keeping myself safe is my own responsibility, I felt that their advice and reassurance helped me stay functional and kept me from being paralyzed by fear… All my friends assured me that my abuser could likely return someday for revenge, but as you already know, financing multiple housing is not always a possibility in everyone’s budget, and so I’m having to make some very big decisions, and his firm has been more than accomodating and supportive.. in ways that I could never have imagined.. Now I know why some of Josh Carpenter’s clients would call him( informing him of family news, like new additions to their family and so forth — almost like he was a close family friend… Because that is how he treats his clients… with sincere concern for their well-being..

I used this firm in April 2022 and they did nothing but take the $6K plus monies. They made so many promises and hinted they would absolutely get my case to the courts to stop the issue that was at hand. They did NOTHING but lie and did not follow the practice they claim of keeping you informed about charges once you had exhausted the retainer given them. Imagine my surprise to receive a bill for almost the same amount as the retainer given them up from in cash. I simply would NEVER recommend them because the office is too casual (wearing shorts and work out attire while trying to be professional. Get real). Also, they should have refunded monies to me for a lousy job since the attorney handling my case virtually did nothing despite daily contact with him through the whole procedure.

I hired Carpenter & Associates to handle my messy divorce and dirty custody battle. Josh made me feel like I mattered, and was the best person I could have had represent me!! Hopefully my next husband isn't a dirtbag too, but if he is, I'll definitely hire Josh and his team to fight for me again!

mr. carpenter really helped me throughout my court battle. he was always available to answer my questions, even after hours. my previous attorney cost twice the price and did half as much as josh! i am very lucky i found his firm.

Josh Carpenter is a wholly ineffective counsel. In just the time I had retained him, the people that were working my case were fired and I was uninformed. I was constantly billed for work I did not see, was uninformed and kept in the dark, and he left me on the date of my trial! He did not respond to my calls and emails and only would demand payment of bills or was forcing my hand to sign a Withdrawal of Counsel motion. RUN from this attorney. He had his license suspended for misconduct in the past. He's putting people of Texas who are trying to fix their families at risk with his horrific "representation." On the day of my trial, he begged that I not make him represent me and came on just to tell the judge he won't be representing me and I ended up unprepared without help or evidence I could have gathered for the trial. This trial put me at risk of losing my son.

He will take your money and do nothing at all. He had a lawyer show up fresh out of school that didn’t know my case... need I say more

Josh is my attorney and has made me feel at ease with my case since the beggining. If I need anything he is on top of it. I am so grateful I found this firm to help me with my personal injury case. Thank you for taking care of me
