David was recommended to me as the expert in the field by a previous attorney of mine who is also considered one of the top attorneys in Texas but in a different part of the state. I could not be more pleased with the results. I was facing a 2nd DWI charge with a fairly high blood score. David walked me through the entire process. His expertise was apparent in every step. He compiled every piece of ammo so that we had a very strong case in multiple aspects were we to go to trial. In the end, David worked his meticulous magic to find a little-known and apparently rarely-used law to get my case DISMISSED. I cannot recommend him enough. If you want the best, you’ve found him.

I have never been in trouble. The situation was super stressful to me. I shopped many, many lawyers and ended up using a friends attorney just based off a personal recommendation. After a month of using that attorney, I decided to instead go with David, who was my personal first choice. The reason I did this was the kind manner in which he explained everything to me. He listened to what happened, understood that I was completely clueless regarding anything regarding the process, he never used scare tactics (a lot do) and was honest with me. He communicated the entire process and made me feel as though I was genuinely taken care of through this whole process. Many lawyers would tell me the extremes of cases or didn’t communicate with me at all about the process. More of a “just hire me and I’ll take care of it.” It was important to me to stay involved (as necessary) for my life and career. I cannot express the sigh of relief when I hired him. I knew I was in the best possible hands. I would refer him to anyone that would ever need him. He gives you all the options and will be honest with his recommendations of the possible and not possible. He gave me advice on what was best for me, not advice that would drag it on and get him more money. He gave me better than what I thought was the best outcome in my situation and I couldn’t be more grateful to him.

I was stopped for DWI in Collin County. Initial charge was that I changed lanes without signalling - which was true - and that I was swerving in the lane - which was false (as even the videos showed later). It was a Saturday night and the cops were obviously looking for drunk drivers (like they should). It was the last few days of the month - I do not know if this was a factor. I hired one lawyer for handling the case, but in a couple of weeks, discovered that he/his firm was very shoddy in its practices. They did not file proper ALR hearing request, but upon my follow-up on this, pretended that they did - by showing me what was obviously to me a fake document. My *guess* is that they fooled a lot of clients in this manner. Sad to see that there are unethical lawyers like this. I searched online, found David Burrows and interviewed him, among others. Right off the bat, I could make out that David was honest and ethical, would fight for his client and not just try to make money of the case and not care what happened to his client. I decided to hire him as my lawyer. It was the best thing I did in this whole ordeal. David was, simply put, awesome from beginning to end. Whenever I met with him, it was more like meeting with a friend rather than with a lawyer. I always felt like he would do the maximum he can to win the case. David advised me on how to get a copy of my records from the police department (all the videos etc.) and reviewed them multiple times while we were waiting for the blood test police report to come through. He also helped me get an ODL (Occupational Driver's License) so I could continue driving for work for the next six months. My blood test results had came in below the threshold of 0.08, but the county decided to file a DWI case anyway (interesting that they can do that even when it is below the legal limit.) Through the following months, David met with me many times and reviewed the case. He advised me that getting a blood re-test might be helpful, and I decided to opt for that. It was good advice - the results came in 16% lower than the previous and helped cement my case. When the case came up for pre-trial he discussed with me the options of going for a judge-trial or a jury-based trial. I let him be the judge on that decision as I had no prior experience in this matter. We went with the judge trial and it took may be 15-20 minutes for the judge to dismiss the case. David was a god-send as far as I am concerned. I had never known him before this case but I would unhesitatingly refer him to others.

Would I recommend David Burrows to represent other people in DWI cases? The simple answer is yes based on my "Not Guilty" verdict in a complicated case in Collin county. But there is more... I had several lawyers in my life. You do not have to be a criminal person but you may still need a lawyer to handle complicated matters. All of the lawyers I had before did not want to waste their time listening for the details I thought are relevant. All of them - but not David. He went an extra mile, spent tremendous amount of his time to listen attentively to all things I thought are important. Not all of them actually were and he carefully selected what will work in my favor. He was the easiest person to reach any day and always ready to review all the things we discussed. It was a great pleasure to have a person on your side who is willing to understand every single detail. Based on the facts he developed a winning strategy that really worked. He was fantastic in his selection of the jury finding the right people who will understand all the details of the case favorably presented by him to the court. His final arguments nailed it. Bottom line: He was the best lawyer I ever met and it was the best experience to have a person on your side who is so professional, easy to reach, attentive to all details, and knowing how to win the case. It was a blessing that I was referred to Mr. Burrows and it had a great positive outcome in my case.
