I stumbled upon Katy Lovett as my legal representation after having spent nearly 10 months (and 10s of thousands of dollars) working with a lawyer who decided to quit her firm just 5 weeks ahead of trial. I still vividly recall my first conversation with Katy Lovett - she came across as a trustworthy, no nonsense lawyer. She was very understanding of my situation: my divorce was very complicated. What stood out to me about her was her honesty - unlike with my previous lawyer where I was unable to comprehend what was in the realm of possibility, Katy Lovett was forthcoming in what she could advocate for me. Katy Lovett always lent a patient ear to my concerns and always nudged me in the right direction. It was also so refreshing for Katy Lovett to be so sensitive to the money clients such as me spend on divorce. Katy Lovett is also very responsive over email/phone and is very well prepared. I always felt like she knew the gory details of my case - in a sense, it felt like she was paying all her attention to my specific case to achieve the right outcome (although I know for a fact that she had other clients at that time). What really aced it for me was Katy Lovett's understanding of the cultural background - which came handy when planning for trial. Katy Lovett spent hours preparing me for trial as the opposing counsel was hell bent on taking the case to trial but they eventually settled on the day of trial. Divorce can be an extremely challenging situation especially when both spouses are living in the same marital residence. My focus entirely was on getting more time with my kid which I was able to secure - thanks mainly to Katy Lovett. As I have told her many times, If only I hired her sooner to represent my case, I would not have to face all of this mental agony or have to spend all this money. I highly recommend Katy Lovett as she is very trustworthy, hardworking, extremely detail oriented and a great advocate for her clients. You are in safe hands with Katy Lovett!!
