He was appointed to me. I spent 6 months in jail on a bond I couldn’t afford with conditions restricting me from returning home if bond was possible. When the money was raised we hired an attorney instead and within 3 days I was released from jail and a flood of motions began to get filed on my behalf. Court appointed attorneys are said to have to represent you to the fullest extent but they aren’t held to it. That has allowed Shaughnessy to collect small checks in return for zero work while lives are devastated. The 3 times I spoke with him he was obviously irritated and blatantly rude. The last time he began cursing and getting very rude when questioned about his obvious lack of effort. He did nothing for 6 months while I was in jail. 2 months after hiring another lawyer he filed a request for payment.

3 times he did not show up for my court date. If you get him assigned to you or a family member request another attorney. He has taken 0 action, returned 0 phone calls and should not be allowed to be a public defender.

Edward Shaughnessy got me the best possible outcome for my 3 felony cases. He was able to get 2 of the 3 felonies dismissed. I was able to serve the least possible amount of probation and avoid jail time. He is a brilliant attorney and am grateful for the services he provided.

mr. shaughnessy was in no way on my side. he was my court appointed attorney. I'm not going to write all the details because it would take all day. he was rude,no compassion, not interested in ever hearing important details about my case which involved misconduct and abusive authority by the arresting cop not to leave out, falsifiying statements and evidence. the cops lied period and he only discussed negative outcomes and completely ignored all and every piece of physical evidence and continued to persuade me to plea out. he never returned my letters or phone calls and lost the evidence I mailed him and then carelessly filed motions with incorrect case numbers and charges. he was very rude when communicating. he interrupted me and made up some ridiculous comments to try to convince me he knew what he was saying. stay away. I mean, if your paying him money, he may respond completely opposite. this is ofcorse my own personal expeiriance . the man is deception claiming a profession that uses intimidation as a way from having to do any actual case work, research and investigation. be careful.
