Matt helped me with a family law case 5+ years ago. I was very happy with the results of that case. Recently, I needed some help dealing with the Bexar county clerk since I don't live in the area. I reached out to his office and spoke to his wife, Lisa. She was very kind and willing to help me. Within just a few hours she resolved a matter that I had spent over a week trying to figure out. I am super grateful. If you want someone who is going to be honest and work hard for you while making sure you're doing what's best for your child, I can confidently say that Matt and Lisa are someone you can count on. They are fair and reasonable. They can help you stay level headed when emotions are running high. Thank you both for all you do to help families.

I used Mr. Obermeier’s services a few years ago and never came back to write a review as I was still going through my process and was not in a great mental space. However, I wanted to come back and leave my fair review. Mr. Obermeier has good people skills for the most part, but at times can be a little dry and condescending. I used him for family law. I wouldn’t recommend him for that. I was trying to remove my child out of a violent and hazardous environment. He compared my case to his personal life referencing an extramarital relationship being an unjustified cause of his ex spouse denying him visitation. I felt this was important to mention as it was upsetting to me due to it following the theme of father rights instead of the specific details of my case, and I felt it insinuated that I was seeking legal action based on my own selfish interests and not the safety/interest of my child. Who I assumed was Mr. Obermeier’s paralegal at the time, Lisa Leal, had also made comments about how the state is really trying to honor father rights and when I expressed grievances about my representation, she got defensive and told me she was biased because “Matt” was the father of her child. Note: Lisa is in fact a board certified attorney, which I did not discover until later and she was not representing me. Additionally, Mr. Obermeier’s choice for a mediator, Randy Alwais, was absolutely not a great choice for me. Mr. Alwais was more focused on being a comedian and when I began to cry as I felt completely defeated in trying to protect my child from a predator, he berated me. Mr. Alwais told me “oh no Ma’am, we’re not going to do that (crying)” and coached me into signing an agreement I did not want to sign. I felt like Mr. Obermeier did not protect me in that situation at all. Overall, it was an awful experience. I did not feel protected or supported; matter of fact, I felt like I was being attacked from the opposing party’s end as well as my end.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! From sending a website message, to the response time, to the completion of my particular needs, Mr. Obermeier provided such amazing service through the whole process. I cannot say enough about how valued I felt not only as a client but as a person.

I used Matt 10 years ago. He had a hard job dealing with me, my husband and my ex-husband for a custody case. It was a high conflict case. I think it’s safe to say he had not had one like that, at that point, in his legal career and hopefully he hasn’t had one since😉. He was always available to me. He always called me back. After having not spoke to him in over 10 years, I had a question that only he could answer. I left him a voicemail and within a half an hour he called me right back. He was able to help me. If I was still in Texas, he would most certainly be my lawyer on retainer. I would recommend him to anyone 5 stars for sure!!

I can't recommend The Law Offices of Matthew J. Obermeier enough. Matt and Lisa have been absolutely incredible throughout my divorce and custody case. They offered unparalleled dedication and commitment, even stepping in at the last minute to represent me when they should have been packing for vacation! Matt's sharpness and strategic solutions, combined with Lisa's attention to detail and caring nature, made a world of difference for me. They are both strong advocates for fathers' rights and incredibly accessible (more so than any other lawyers I've encountered). If you need divorce representation, you won’t be disappointed.

Let me just say. Matt was fantastic. I spoke with his wife Lisa yesterday about 4:30 pm and discussed with her my situation. I met with Matt today at noon. All paperwork was done. This was just to do the final step to finalize my divorce. I was having no luck with the zoom finalization of my divorce. If u know, u know. It is a horrible system with getting into the lottery pull of the zoom session. Anyways… Matt and Lisa were very compassionate and got a text today at 4pm to follow up with me. The most incredible thing is that I spoke with like 5 different firms yesterday, explained my issue and everyone of them wanted to charge a RIDICULOUS amount. Not Matt and Lisa, it was way beyond reasonable for what I needed done. Thank u Matt and Lisa for the promptness that y’all provided on my last day of my vacation. Words can’t not express my gratitude. They were a 10/10.

This man, I hesitate to call him a lawyer, took $10,000 of mine as a retainer and couldn't even get one thing done totally before I fired him and had to hire someone else. He gave me a little over $300 refund. He doesn't return your calls or messages and never explains why he's doing things, just states "trust me". It's hard to feel trust when you feel you've been fleeced. His wife is no better she just makes excuses for him

Thankful for the legal advice and support during a very difficult time in mine and my husband’s lives regarding our business and property situation. Not only was Matt careful in examining our concerns and answering all of our questions, he was very logical and honest when communicating with us every step of the way!
