Steven Redgate and his "team" are a joke. I hired him about 5 years ago to obtain my permanet residence and it was a disater at the end. When I first met with Mr. Redgate he promised me that would go to all hearings and when it came down to going he didn't know There was one scheduled and on top of that he wanted to charge me extra for going. He stated in the beginning that my fee would cover all that but it didn't. I ended up going to the meeting by myself but luckly for me I becaom a permanet resident. Thanks for nothing Mr. Redgate.

I have seen the other reviews and I do not understand how people would say those things. Mr. Redgate handled my immigration case and told me that it would be difficult from the very beginning. He told me my options and explained everything that he could do. He also told me to talk to other lawyers so that I would be sure that I was comfortable dealing with whoever took my case. I took his advice and did speak to other lawyers but after listening to them decided to go with Mr. Redgate. The case took a long time to complete and we had to go to several hearings, but we were successful!

I was ready to be deported. My case was extremely complicated. Not only he was my attorney but he was a man able to transmit hope. He was fair and truthful about the outcome. Kept me informed of everything he was doing and about to do.

I went to Steven Redgate to get a divorce. I filed in August of 2008 (almost 2 years ago). He said that I had to wait six months before he could do anything (since I was living in another state). After those six months he said that he would get somebody to serve my husband in the state that he lives in. About a month after he said that, he said that he did not get my husband served. A few more months go by, and he finaly got him served. He said that after he gets him sevred and doesn't hear anything from him in 2 weeks, that we would go ahead with the next step. Two weeks pass, and Steven Redgate says "lets wait two more weeks." A few more months go by, of this "lets wait two more weeks" game, and nothing still is happening. I call a couple times every two weeks, if not every week, to see whats going on. They act like they don't know anything. His secretary says that Steven hasn't left any notes about my case, or she'll tell me that he'll call later, yet he never calls back. I was supposed to have a court hearing on December 11th, 2009. I was told that I did not have to show up to court, unless my husband shows up. Didn't make sense to me. I always thought at least one person had to show up, especially the one who filed for the divorce. But I'm not a lawyer so I don't know. I was told that after the court hearing, my divorce would be put in the paper for a month, and if my husband does not respond to it within that month period, then I'll be granted the divorce. A month goes by, and still nothing. Now he's deciding when to petetion the court for another hearing. I called them two weeks ago and his secretary said he would call next week. Well at the end of the week he was supposed to call, I call them and guess what, once again he's not in the office. How convient. Now I'm considering finding a new lawyer. Steven Redgate is un-reliable. Do not go to him. He'll rip you off like he did me. He'll take your money and run. They don't file the papers like they say they will, and they don't return your phone calls like they promise. It's now been almost 2 years since I filed, and I'm out 1500 dollars because Steven Redgate does not do as he promises.

The office staff does not care about picking up your phone calls, neither do they care about making sure to call you back even when they promise to do so. I am in the process of getting my citizenship. This law office did not file my application for employment. I was under the impression that it was filed as we had a phone conference with toni, a paralegal, who assured my prospective employer and I that the application was simply pending with the USCIS. Not true, they had no record of ever receiving the application. Redgate's response "The USCIS is incompetent, they lose things all the time". When in actuality his response should have been "We did not file the application, we dont care about our clients, and we take the blame for the outcome of this case as you hired us to see this matter through completion." After looking for the application and making the assumption that it might have indeed be lost, which it wasnt, we resubmitted the application. This time around, it was done on the first of this month. The problem is that Steven Redgate sent the application to the wrong address and failed to notice the fact that there was no fee in the application. Turns out that if you are filing the application for employment separate from the application to adjust permanent residence, then there is a fee of $340 that needs to be included with the application, without this fee it will not be processed. In conclusion, I do not reccomend this lawyer for anything at all. This is one of the worst experiences that I have had dealing with dodgy people that are full of nothing but empty promises, incompetence, arrogance and excuses. When the time is right, they will have to come to terms with the Texas Bar for their negligence and unethical business practices, till then, stay away, or get burned like I did.
