I don’t see how this guy is in business. He exudes apathy. Every interaction I’ve had with him just seemed like he couldn’t care less or was bothered. I felt like a huge imposition just from contacting him to consult on my case.

I had a civil matter for which I sought the services of this law firm. My case was resolved, in my favor, and although it wasn't a swift process, the team was very thorough, and communicative throughout. I would highly recommend this firm!

I know attorneys get the right to choose their clients, and don't have to return a phone call, but after seeing the articles on the "Bexar County Fighthouse", and having experienced quite a bit of abuse of my own Civil Rights, along with my children's and my mother as well, I decided to give his office a call. Since attorney client privilege did not exist, and it was a phone call between myself and his legal assistant who answered the phone; I decided to record it.
I gave a short account of arrests and releases, and also the experience I had in jail. I've been arrested 5 times without a conviction, and I've had the Bexar County DA's office trying to "shove a conviction down my throat".
When I'm told I'm going to get a call back, and that "Mr. Canfield should be very interested.", I expect a call back. I even told the legal assistant over the phone, "please just let him know, if he's not interested, I understand, but please let me know so I can continue searching for someone capable of handling these issues..." She said he'll definitely return my call. Now two attorneys, one which practices criminal law, and one family law have both told me my civil rights have been broken on multiple occasions.
I suppose having a client with detailed audio, as well as video recordings, to show what's transpired is a little bit difficult to work with, let alone witnesses which are also officers of the courts.
If you're looking for someone that "cares" about your civil rights? Keep looking.

I would not recommend. He copy and pastes documents that was obvious in a deposition with a previous client's address. I asked him numerous times about meeting the judge's filing deadline for an appeal, which he and his assistant said the message was received and we were fine. He still failed to meet the critical filing deadline and filed documents after the clearly stated deadline which resulted in my entire case to be void. He refused to take responsibility for his filing error. His closing statement to me was "I can't tell you what to do, you could try to sue me".
