I had a Workman's comp case with Kelly Matthews. We won our hearing after my claim was denied by Zurich Ins. However, I have a contested case hearing in one week. I have left numerous messages for Kelly Matthews for 3 weeks she has not returned my calls. My Doctors office has been emailing regarding what information to send to Kelly Matthews to assist in the upcoming hearing and AGAIN she has failed to reply. I made my last phone call and advised her paralegal how dissatisfied I am with no communication and a huge upcoming hearing. Kelly Matthews send me a withdraw letter stating I have degraded her and her staff. So now I have no representation for my upcoming hearing in one week and she is still going to receive payments out of my workman's compensation!!! Beware of this attorney who will drop you but not your money when you need her the most!

We hired Kelly Matthews to work on behalf of our granddaughter. An appointment was made promptly and we were introduced to Kristen Hunter who became my granddaughter's attorney of record for what has turned out to be a very difficult Worker's Compensation case. Ms. Hunter has worked tirelessly and won a very difficult hearing in favor of our granddaughter. The situation is still fluid and this firm has met our legal needs and continues to do so.

I tried for over a year to handle my own claim. It was extremely trying and time consuming. Once I realized that surgery was my only option, I decided to reach out to an attorney to help me through the process. I am so very glad that Ms. Matthews was recommended to me. I traveled over an hour to her office and it was very worth my time. Ms. Matthews was always very attentive, professional and responsive. I am pleased to say that she just helped me finalize my case which ended on a positive note. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of legal assistance.

They were very knowledgable with the workers compensation process. Anyone who has been through it knows how difficult it is in Texas. No one wants to pay for legal fees, but without their help I would get nothing. Matthews & associates help you find the needed medical treatment and assistance. They help walk you through the never ending legal headache created by the department of workers compensation.

Well, I need to start by saying that I had no clue what a beast it is to file a Workers Compensation Claim. I tried as long as I could to personally oversea my claim and the process of my claim. Once I was convinced that Workers Comp is not a friend of mine nor the injured employee, I hired the firm at Kelly A Matthews. My assigned lawyer is Kristen Hunter and her trusted paralegal, Melissa Johnson. They set up expectations early on and told me to hold on tight and that I was about to enter into a volatile game of "prove my injury and honesty." They were right on the money. It is incredible that we, the injured employees, need to fight for the rights that were supposed to protect us in these cases. I will admit that the wait is frustrating and nerve racking, but it is of no fault of my attorney and staff. I place blame on the Insurance Agency and the Texas Commission Worker's Compensation Agency. The hoops that are in place can only be best fought with a knowledgeable Attorney and Firm like Kelly A Matthews. Seriously, someone needs to monitor the process and fix it to benefit the injured employee so that we can get back on our feet and back to work in a safe environment. I am so thrilled and at ease that I have Ms. Hunter and Ms. Johnson directing my case. I must also mention that it is imperative that us clients stay calm and organized and keep your attorney informed at all times. We also need to help them help us by following all guidelines and attending all appointments. I am certain that my up coming case will be handled efficiently and professionally. If the outcome is not what we are hoping for, then I trust that I and my law firm did everything in our power to be honest and accurate with our statements and material. I will fight to the end and hoping for a favorable and just outcome in January.

After signing with the firm I was told that they would take care of every aspect of my claim. They said they would file all paperwork with the state, arrange for an appointment with a doctor that they know would look out for my best interest, & they would make sure to keep me updated every step of the way. Needless to say that never happened. There was a 90 day period that they had to get me to their preferred doctor and file all of the paperwork. As time went by I heard nothing from the firm. I contacted them almost weekly leaving messages and speaking with the secretary who told me that everything was fine with my case but these things take time and someone would call me back when there was something to report. I became more and more worried as my deadline date approached with the state and I was still unable to contact anyone at the firm about my case. Finally I received a letter from the firm about a week before the deadline telling me that they need the paperwork from their doctor asap to file the paperwork. I called I told them that I was still waiting for their people to give me the doctors information so that I can visit the doctor & they said I would get a call back. Days from the deadline I received a call from a paralegal telling me that they just were assigned the case and they need to know the status with the case & she was asking me what the firm had already done on my behalf and what still needed to be done... I couldn't believe that after all the time they were supposed to be handling my case and after all of my messages just days before the deadline a paralegal called me asking what was already done on my behalf because she was just assigned my case that day and the person who was supposed to be working on the case prior to that was "not contactable" what ever that means. I told her that I was still waiting for the doctor & that I have had no updates from the firm so I had no Idea what had been done up to that point. She told me that she would get right on it & would call me back to set up everything so that I didn't miss the deadline & not to worry. Over the next few days I called frequently but couldn't get anyone on the phone. Ultimately after signing with the firm & waiting all the way up to the deadline I received a letter in the mail saying that unfortunately they could no longer help me with my claim & wished me luck, They then stated that just fyi they filed paperwork with the state to be reimbursed for all of their time spent on the case??? Unbelievable. I was devastated that I put my livelihood in their hands and they mishandled my case this badly. Not only that but they waited until I was unable to hire another firm in their place. To add insult to injury "literally" they wanted to receive payment from the state if I were somehow able to magically get the state to allow me to file after the deadline despite what they cost me. I called repeatedly trying to get any type of explanation. They simply said that because they no longer represent me they are unable to discuss anything with me. Their professionalism & disorganization cost me everything in my case. Please be weary dealing with this firm.

She is my workman's compensation attorney and she is very knowledgeable. She discusses all of your options with you before you make decisions and really has your best interest at heart. She keeps you well informed and her staff returns all of my calls if they're not readily available.

I was a client, helped out as much as I could. But this case is about me how i failed to be a client who wanted to win, but things are not meant to be, Matthews not so good at returning calls, and due to her own personal issues cancelled my Brc, CCH'S. I tried very hard but a relationship has to work both ways.

Don't let her certification fool you!! This was a first time for me to hire a lawyer to represent me for an on the job injury. I was very surprised to see that she did the same thing to me as she did to the other person who wrote a review. After a year of taking 25% of compensation, and she got her max fee allowed, she dropped my case one week before my hearing basically leaving me alone at the most crucial moment! The communication and service was awful and very disappointing. It is obvious she only is interested in getting paid, and not helping the injured worker!
