In August, 2020, I contacted Colin Hobbs based on a recommendation from a lawyer I respect. A teenage grandchild of mine had gotten two speeding tickets (one was for going at high speeds) and she was considering not seeking the services of a lawyer. Colin helped me deal with a Blanco County judge that was overstepping his authority. Ihad recieved a speeding ticket in Blanco and the speed limit was 5 mph over what the ticket said, so we tried for differed adjudication. The judge not only required drivers Ed to get differed adjudication, he required that you write an essay! Colin went to exceptional effort to pressure this judge to get my case cleared, due to the unnecessary requirements. He did it mostly out of a sense of justice. Today, I even asked him about another case in Lampasas that was five years old and still on the books.
