I can NOT recommend Cramp Law Firm, PLLC nor his team to anyone. I needed an attorney that was knowledgeable in ex spousals receiving retired active duty member's retirement. I specifically needed to provide to DFAS a Clarifying Order Award to accompany the paperwork I had already provided in a 90 day time frame. Upon speaking with Eileen, James Cramp's assistant, she reassured me Mr. Cramp was very knowledgeable in this process given the fact the reason I contacted this office because Mr. Cramp was a retired Colonial in the USAF. I contacted this office speaking with Eileen June 9, 2020 and emailed all of the documents she needed to pass on to Mr. Cramp. To keep the story short since that date I have had to call the office to check on status and this is what I was provided/explained by Eileen : #1 A week later I called to check the status, Mr. Cramp answer's the phone. He says Eileen was at the post office. I asked if he had received my information which he had not. Mr. Cramp asked me to explain briefly what my case was about. I explained. He said he has done many of these cases and will get my information from Eileen once she gets back from the post office. #2 Per Eileen - "I apologize Nikki my computer crashed. If you could re-email me the documents again and provide me with your phone number." Sure I said. "I will email you to confirm I have received." and she did ..my thoughts, computer crashing has nothing to do with emails sent, should still be in the email, right?!!? #3 About two weeks later I called to inquire again the status. Eileen explains, "Oh yes Nikki, we are just getting back into the office due to Mr. Cramp being admitted into the hospital for a heart condition. I am now in the office three days a week rather than the normal two days a week. I have printed out your paper work and will give to Mr. Cramp ASAP." #4 Per Eileen - "Nikki I have printed out your paper work and will give to Mr. Cramp ASAP." she verified my contact information again and said she will email me with updated information. #5 TODAY - A week and half later, I called to ask the status. Once again Eileen said, "I have printed your information and will give to Mr. Cramp". I said I have two concerns one being getting the Clarifying Order submitted to DFAS is time sensitive, I have 90 days. Second, since she mentioned again Mr. Cramp's health issues and he is also working on other cases in her best opinion should I go with another attorney given the fact that I am having to call the office for updates and he is busy catching up. Unless I can get a phone call from Mr. Cramp for updates. Hoping I would feel the assurance that he at least have my paperwork. Eileen's response was," You do what you feel you need to do" with a rude tone with no other comment to follow. I said ok and ended the call. From my perspective I can not honestly say Mr. Cramp is doing a bad job because I am not sure if he has my paperwork. I fully sympathize with his health concerns. I also fully understand if he is now backed up due to being hospitalized. I will not put any pressure on him for my own selfish reasons or concerns. HOWEVER, Eileen, his assistant is doing a disservice to Mr. Cramp's law firm. I feel she has not handed my paperwork to Mr. Cramp and I feel she does not have the best interest of Mr. Cramps clients.

As challenging is it to go through a divorce, I will say I made the best decisions to have Jim Cramp by my side. Jim was extremely professional, knowledgable, and personable. Being an active duty member, it was important to have someone who previous served and understood my situation. Jim Cramp also was a great sounding board not only for legal advice, but also in providing sound life advice as a went through this new chapter in my life. I would recommend Jim to my friends, family, and anyone require his expertise.

Jim and Eileen have been great through what's been a very difficult process. Jim picked up my case from another attorney that was completely unresponsive. Jim and Eileen unfortunately had to work (and are still working) through a situation with little to no cooperation. Lots of stalling and trying to hold up the process. While it made for a lot of unnecessary work and made things go a lot longer than needed Jim and Eileen kept plugging away and got everything handled. I can't say enough about the professionalism and work ethic of Jim and Eileen. If you're in need of a divorce attorney Jim and Eileen will take care of you and ensure things go as well as possible for you. I can't recommend them enough.

I can’t recommend Jim and his team highly enough. I needed someone knowledgeable about the military for my divorce and Jim went above and beyond to accommodate multiple deployments in helping me get my pro se divorce finished cleanly despite delays on my end. He was more than reasonable for his rates as well. Jim and Eileen will take good care of you during this period in your life!

Solid information on the website reflecting the in depth knowledge of division of military retirement pay in divorce of military households created a strong foundation of credibility with me. Jim responded quickly to my inquiry and immediately was able to break down how DFAS had made their calculations of the former military spouse's award based on the wrong formula placed in the DRO by my ex's lawyer. His ability to verbally articulate everything that I had already discovered in my own defense, leading up to a hearing I had recently lost by representation from a less qualified lawyer, instantly resonated with me that HE could get a judge to hear my truth. I had given up finding anyone that could represent what I knew about DRO's and was searching the internet to see what I would have to submit to the court to get DFAS to make the adjustment from my retirement pay. I found that I would need a clarifying order and this search led me to Jim's website. Once I obtained Jim's services and began using his case software, I was assured I was working with a professional and he earned my trust with every encounter we had via phone, on line and in person. We went back to court and he was able to get the judge to understand what my previous lawyer failed to communicate and I was cleared of the false allegations. I can't thank him enough for clearing my case up in court.

Mr. Cramp and his team are excellent, highly professional, and knowledgeable. The online system they use is superb and makes the entire process very transparent and efficient. Mr. Cramp clearly explained all fees up front, and he was outstanding in answering any and all questions I had. Jim and Eileen did an excellent job in picking up my case after it stalled with a previous attorney.
