We have engaged Kathy Roux twice for our estate planning documents. While not the fastest turn around we find the quality of her work to be superb.

I had an absolutely awful experience with this business. From the very beginning, communication was unprofessional and disorganized. I was quoted a rate of $200/$400 per hour, which I had no issue with. However, I was later blindsided by two hidden $20 "open doc" fees that were never mentioned upfront. When I asked for clarification, the lawyer was condescending and dismissive. Transparency is key in professional services, and this lack of it feels deceitful. The lawyer also claimed to have spent "at least one hour" communicating with me, which is blatantly false. I checked my call log—it was under 10 minutes. Most of the emails exchanged were unnecessary and caused by her failure to communicate thoroughly in the first place. Her own documents were outdated and poorly formatted, and she didn’t provide clear instructions for payment. All of these issues were avoidable with even a basic level of professionalism. The attitude I received throughout this process was shocking—rude, condescending, and utterly unsupportive. It felt like I was being brushed off and treated as if I wasn’t worth her time. Despite expressing my willingness to pay for her expertise, she came across as rushed, dismissive, and uninterested. It was clear from the start that this wasn’t going to be a positive experience, but I reluctantly went ahead due to my time constraints. Big mistake. This lawyer seems inexperienced, given the lack of staff support and minimal Google reviews (only 12). My advice? Hire someone with better customer service skills or reconsider your approach, because with this kind of treatment, your business will never grow. Needless to say, I canceled my appointment and will never return. Instead of spending time on a consultation, I’m spending it writing this review. If you're looking for professional, transparent legal services, save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

We attended a Probate presentation at the Thrive center in Lewisville. Ms Roux was very thorough regarding the probate process and answered numerous questions during the presentation. She was very helpful and emailed everyone a copy of her presentation. We greatly appreciate the information and may look into additional estate planning with her.

I met Kathy Roux today and I must say that I was blown away by how knowledgeable, sincere, professional, and timely Ms. Roux was. She has an ear for listening AND comprehending the questions and concerns for others, especially during an emotionally trying time such as dealing with probate! We had an absolutely horrible experience with this attorney. She was hired to guide us through a very simple probate where all parties involved were in agreement as to the distribution of the assets. After almost a year we were no closer to finishing the probate case than when we started. Kathy often failed to communicate with us. I strongly recommend using any other attorney and avoid getting involved with Kathy Roux. This is my opinion only and your experience may differ. To answer Kathy’s response, it is true she did not represent me personally. However, she represented my wife of over 30 years and I was involved every step of the way and can bear true witness that everything stated in this review is accurate and on my wife’s behalf.

Tuesday evening I attended an overview on the importance of wills in regards to estate planning. Ms. Roux' presentation was informative and enlightening. Patiently, she responded to a plethora of questions. A plus was that she offered to send us her PowerPoint. After discussing her main points with my spouse, we will probably approach her to draft a new will for us.
