Can't enough bad.. Secretaries giving legal advice, hours printing copies and making promises they have no intention of filling- stay away! theres only a handful or less of attorneys in CTx I recommend, I made the mistake of using James Coleman there and he lied to me a LOT, got me in all kinds of problems.. If I didn't have an attorney I wouldve been better off. RUN AWAY

My friend currently has them as a public defender. The negative reviews are accurate. Honestly, read Bobby's comments to the negative reviews. It shows his lack of accountability. He blames every issue on everyone else, instead of self reflecting on how maybe him and his team are horrible to some of the clients, he isn't that great at what he does...or needs to retire...Same thing with Alexis, she acts like an attorney, but is only paralegal (which is NOT a lawyer). She flat out lied to me and said she spoke to me on three separate occasions. No, I called you three times and never got a call back. They do not come visit my friend, they have not finished going through the declarations together even though my friend has been locked up since December. They reset his court date, but the attorney has yet to come talk to my friend despite him calling the office a few times a week. Do note that my friend requested a speedy trial too. My friend keeps sending requests that the office ignores. When he was trying to get a PR bond, Bobby did not prepare or warn him on the questions he would ask. Instead, he put my friend on the spot and made him look bad in front of the judge. Once again, read his comments to the other negative reviews. That should show you how toxic this law firm is!

Divorce. Did not do much of anything. Was destroyed but opposing counsel even though I had all I needed to defend my side. One staff member said they come in hung over all the time, unprofessional imo. Did not help me with my case hardly at all. Probably better without an attorney than use his office. Constatlntly changing phone numbers and staff. I know more about family law than they do I think. Read other real new reviews, not the old ones, go elsewhere! Charges for everything and a lot! Am reporting ethics to State Bar. I do not recommend!!

These people are crooks. They are in bed with the prosecutors to railroad you. All the previous negative reviews are 100% correct. They start off polite and it seems like everything is positive but before long they show their true colors. They are grossly unprofessional; don't return phone calls and will lie through their teeth. Like the previous reviewer said the paralegal Alexis thinks she an attorney but is just a convenient idiot and the associate attorney Coleman is an absolute shame to the profession. The whole "justice system" in bell county is a racket and needs to be exposed. The judge and prosecutors are their colleagues and this is the major reason why you can't receive the proper representation you expect. They will two-step and mexican hat dance all over your 6th ammendment right. They drag their feet on your case and will intentionally procrastinate until you acquiesce to the demands of the court. As you may have gleaned from the other reviews, stalling is a tactic they often employ to withdraw from your case and run off with your money when you become frustrated with their incompetence or finally get wise to their game. I am currently in the process of composing a loquaciously verbose grievance with the state bar.

Do not hire Bobby Barina. He is polite and sounds like just what you need in the initial consultation. But after depositing your retainer check, he doesn't return calls or emails or answer questions even in person. He easily knows how to interrupt, change the subject and make you forget what you asked. He did not do anything I requested and did not follow through what he said he would do in the initial consultation. I turned in the discovery documents. He had them a month before the hearing but didn't turn them over to the opposing counsel. I was charged in contempt of court. He told me not to worry because he would pay the fee since it was his office's fault I was being charged. Then during the hearing he told the judge that it was my fault due to my MS. I couldn't believe he flat out lied to the judge. I kept quiet for so long hoping to just get through my divorce, not knowing it was going to drag on forever. It took a year for the temporary hearing. Even during COVID that is no excuse. I know several couples who got divorced last year in just a few months, even with a court battle. When I confronted him, he dropped me. I should have dropped him that first month but I never dreamed I would still be married 20 months and $15,000.00 later

He was appointed to be my criminal defense attorney. After 3 months, I had to accept that I was going to sit in jail forever waiting on a trial date. He never visited me in jail to discuss my case. He refused to provide me with copies of everything pertaining to my case. In jail, you can't email. You can only call, but his office doesn't accept calls from jail, even if it's free for him because I paid for the call. So all my efforts to reach out to him to discuss my case were futile. He was appointed to be my public defender, to represent me because I couldn't afford an attorney, but all he did was let me sit in jail because I couldn't afford to do anything else like bond out of jail or hire an attorney that actually respected my sixth amendment. I ended up pleading guilty with time served since I sat in jail for almost a year.

As a member of the Armed Forces and going on reserve duty, my pay was dramatically cut. I do not know much about child support and how to adjust payments for child support, and what to do when these changes occur. I wanted to avoid any problems with the TX AGs office. Mr. Barina was kind enough to visit with me briefly and explain what was happening and what I could expect from the AGs office. He was very helpful and informative about my situation. Although, he did not live in the same county as me, I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Kileen TX area. If you are in the military and you want someone that handles Criminal or Family Law, do not hesitate to call him and retain his counsel. He is a very kind and supportive person who will have your best interest at heart. Thank you to him for his time.

The initial consultation with this attorney was very positive. His paralegal seemed nice and both appeared to be knowledgeable about my custody issue. However, after a very short time, it was apparent that the attorney had little concern for my case. After the temporary hearing with the judge, a default judgment was ordered and she wanted Barina to file the order with a specific schedule for supervised visitation for the judge to sign. The paralegal informed me this would take 2-3 weeks. TEN WEEKS later this still had not been done (I regularly requested updates and was told they would let me know) and I requested another hearing. When I complained to the attorney and paralegal about the amount of time this issue was taking, they filed a motion to withdraw as counsel. This all cost me $3000. At the hearing, Barina stated out loud in the courtroom that I was "mean" because I told him he blamed all of his mistakes on other people. The issue was resolved by the judge. I agreed to the motion to withdraw and I will get another attorney when the temporary orders expire. I have filed a grievance against this attorney. This attorney has no respect for his clients. He is unorganized and relies heavily on his paralegal, which resulted in a multitude of mistakes in the paperwork that was filed.

This attorney took my case in 2015 for a common law marriage that didn't exist and a claim against my business. This attorney and stay did NOTHING from 2015-2017 except take money. No returned calls, horrible office support, incomplete paperwork! I hired another attorney and the case was closed in 6 weeks without being a marriage! Please please please read the other poor reviews

Just got off the phone with Mr. Barina, he is an amazing, and sympathetic attorney. From my personal experience, dealing with this law firm. They really care about you and try their best to take care of the clients. USA VETERAN

I believe in reviewing a service provider whether they worked exceptionally or didn't perform to my expectations. This review is long overdue but here goes. I Modified my child support at the end of 2013. Mr. Barina showed up in court prompt, clean, cut and on time. He was extremely knowledgeable and experienced in the field of family. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Sawyer his paralegal at the time she did an awesome job. At court Mr. Barina is like floyd may weather in the ring. It becomes apparent that this man lives eats and sleeps in court. The modification was quite complicated because he changed the order so that I could pay the house that my ex lived at as the child support opposed to sending her a check AND on top of that paying the house that she lived at. What made matters more complicated was that the judge did not want to buy it. He had actually changed the date so that we would have to come back to court 2 weeks later. It was very hard for me to hear that from the judge, since I would have to travel all the way home 800 miles and then back in 2 weeks. However Mr. Barina convinced me to call my ex so that he could explain the situation to her and highlight the benefits that it entailed. So my ex came into court Mr. Barina explained to her the order and the benefits thereof for all parties involved. He waltzed into the court room and spoke with the judge so that I wouldn't have to return in 2 weeks (especially since I was low on cash). My ex signed the paperwork. Voila nightmare over! Mr Barina and the staff were very helpful all through the divorce and custody. They handled my case and I was very pleased with the outcome. The key to quality and efficiency is professionalism, and that is what Mr Barina delivered.
