I was served with divorce papers in October. I called and met with MANY attorneys. Living in a small town where my (now X) husbands family has lived for generations and knows everyone made my lawyer search seem IMPOSSIBLE. Almost every lawyer had a "conflict" and couldn't take my case. I widened my search and found a lawyer in Dallas whom i retained and 3 business days before my first court date, he called me and said a conflict came up and he could no longer represent me. I was panicking (understatement) just started calling every number in google within 100 miles of here. The responses i got were either a hard NO, the travel fees would be as expensive as the retainer, or I could tell by talking to them that they were NOT interested in helping me and my kids. Peter Corcoran answered the phone himself!! He doesn't have an office full of assistants and secretaries to leave messages with that may or may not get returned. I spoke to him on Thursday and briefly explained my case. On Friday he made time to meet with me so i drove to his office and we spent all day going through my case so he would be familiar and ready to represent me that very next Monday. He also communicated with me over the weekend just to make sure he had all the information he needed for Monday. He is very intelligent and knowledgeable. His outstanding work ethic is demonstrated by his drive, attentiveness to details, professionalism as well as his confidence in the court room. He showed much compassion and patience as had many many questions and concerns. He never made me feel like I was bothering him or wasting his time. He took the time to answer all my questions and make sure i understood everything. When we walked into that court room on Monday morning i felt completely confident that Peter was prepared and ready to represent me even though he had just taken my case 3 days prior. Peter gave me a sense of feeling like I got my backbone / courage and voice back to be able to get through this divorce. Peter is NOT afraid to go up against the attorneys with the "big bad wolf / wicked witch" reputations. I am beyond thankful for him.

10/10 would hire again! I contacted Peter the afternoon before my court date to help me when my pro se uncontested divorce turned ugly by surprise. I did not know if he could help me with such short notice, I was wrong! I wish I had hired him from the beginning! It would've saved me a lot of headache and anxiety. After contacting him, he immediately started working on my case. When I met him at the courthouse the next morning, he was prepared and ready. It made everything go smoother than I could've hoped for. He's been very easy to communicate with. He truly goes above and beyond!

I definitely do not recommend this law firm. He is either to busy with cases and does not have time to handle all of them or he just doesn’t care about certain ones!! With mine he just did a terrible job. So if y’all are looking for a child case lawyer do not use him.

Peter took over my divorce case after my lawyer (in his building) came down with covid. I last made contact with my lawyer in November. In December, I reached out to Peter for information on my case, and he did not know the status of her open cases. Fast forward to March with still no contact when I reach out to Peter again, and he informed me he had taken over all of my lawyers open cases. I explained to him that I already had another lawyer working on my case and would like my retainer back. Peter proceeded to talk to me with the most disrespect I have ever witnessed, was deceptive to my new attorney regarding my case, and screamed at me over the phone. I do not know how this man has a single positive review. He displayed the most disgusting and aggressive behavior I have ever encountered from a professional. He did end up writing me a check refunding my original retainer, but acted like an entitled toddler in the midst of a full blown tantrum in the process. I do not recommend this man to anyone. Edit: in response to peters answer: I sympathize for my original lawyer's health issues and am most compassionate. I went 6 months without hearing from anyone regarding my case. This divorce is urgent as there is child custody involved. Peter was beyond disrespectful and unprofessional both times I spoke with him. Literally screaming. I stand by this one star review.
