Called to get help and was told that that only handle civil cases what is low income people to do I guess just throw up our hands and hope for the best I swear if I could ever win the lottery I would move more and likely out of Texas for good

They turned down aid for my mother and her divorce because she, "made too much money". She works at a clothing store making $300 a week and barely has enough to live on her own; so where is all this money she supposedly has?!? I was completely speechless when she told me why they denied her. This place is a scam! I thought this was going to be the answer to a really rough time in my mom's life and mine as she moves onto a better life but it wasn't. I have been helping her pay the rent and other bills on top of the $2000 she needed to get a lawyer to start the process, there will be more for that.

They were extremely helpful. I was referred to an attorney who took my case pro bono and walked me through the whole process. 5*****

They will help with wills ,land issues ect non-criminal cases

They where very helpful with all my questions. The lady I talked to was so nice and walked me through everything I need to know.

I’ve been calling for the last 3 business days straight.....ALL DAY LONG....and can’t get through or past the receptionist...it just rings and rings and rings....and if you chose to apply for legal aid it says the times are from 8:30-2:30 Monday-Thursday and it’s after hours while I’ve been calling since 8:47a and it is now almost 11:00a.....how in the hell are they the only office that serves east Texas....Feeling very disheartened as if my uphill climb isn’t hard enough already....

I wouldn't recommend them to anybody!

When I called they were rude. And said they ONLY handle domestic violence cases because they only have one lawyer! Really? How are low income families suppose to get help with other issues if you are the only legal aid office for our county! What a joke
