I was facing 15 to life on one of the biggest drug cases to hit the Tyler area in years. Felony possession of marijuana, Felony possession of tetrahydrocannabinol, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, and unlawfully carry of a weapon. I thought my life was over until I contacted Mr. Platten. From the beginning he assured me he would take care of everything and give me a chance to continue my life outside of prison. After 10 months of battling a case that the media blew out of the water due to the well known local DJ involved, he finally convinced the prosecutor and judge to give me a more than fair deal. I was always able to contact Mr. Platten and his assistant throughout the whole deal. They were both very knowledgeable and prompt with every aspect of my cases. His fee to represent me was more than reasonable and I believe he was worth every dime spent. He got 2 of my charges dismissed without me having to testify or "snitch" on anybody involved in my case. This is something I was very persistent in not having to do and not once was I ever asked or pressured to do so. I ended up getting 5 years deferred adjudicated probation with no fine, no community service, and eligible to have early release after 24 months. My family and I greatly respect and admire Mr. Platten for everything he did for me during this hard time in my life. I highly recommend Erick for any trouble you may be in. Great experience!! Left In the dark by court appointed attorney. I didn’t know what was going on and I was honestly scared by the possibility of what could happen and not knowing anything. I hired Mr Platten (which was the best decision I could have made) about 10 days before I was set to go to jury trial. He explained everything to me. He also found out about a couple of cases that were gonna be sprung on me that would have put me away for quite a while. I was looking at a total of 3 State Jail Felonies and a 3rd Degree Felony. I was more than pleased to sign for 4 years probation with no jail time. We hired Mr Platten to defend my husband in a intoxication manslaughter case. He was facing up to 20 years in prison! This case was a very emotional case considering the victim was his best friend. Mr platten assured us from the very beginning he would do everything in his power to keep him out of jail! And he did! After almost 2 years of going back and forth to court and the district attorney not offering anything but 10 years prison ( even though the victims family asked for the case to be dropped and did not want to go to court) we went to trial entering a slow plea. Out of the 10 jureyers 8 wanted my husband to walk out with NO punishment! Mr platten was there for us every step of the way. After 3 days of trial the jury gave my husband 10 years PROBATION! What amazes me the most is that since my case had ended I have had some problems or situations I needed his help with and he was ALWAYS just a phone call away.
