After my husband was diagnosed with service-related PTSD and bipolar I discovered that he had not mailed in the past 4 years of federal and state taxes. With having to deal with other issues related to his mental health I was overwhelmed. I contacted Spencer Evans through GilliandLaw Firm and hired them to help me through this process. My previous company was a rapidly growing Software as a Service (SaaS) company and had presence in multiple states. At the time we had contacted Spencer and his team, the company's total revenue since inception exceeded $100 million, so the potential exposure was immense. Spencer and his team performed research on each of the jurisdictions in which we had presence and educated us on whether each jurisdiction would consider our product to be taxable or non-taxable. In the approximately 15 jurisdictions in which our product would be deemed taxable, Spencer and his team were able to get voluntary disclosure agreements ("VDA") in place. Spencer was even able to get a VDA in place in the State of Washington, despite the fact that they had previously reached out to our business on multiple occasions to inform us of a potential audit. This limited our exposure greatly as the jurisdictions agreed upon limited look-back periods and waived most, if not all, penalty and interest, saving our business tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. Spencer was a joy to work with and comes at my highest recommendation as he was extremely knowledgeable of the tax law in the many jurisdictions in which we did business and made it easy for my external auditors and me to understand.

Over a period of eight years, my wife and I were burdened by a seemingly intractable problem with a very large -- materially large -- tax liability owned to the IRS. In legal matters I have never been treated better.He was extremely courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. He totally surprised me when he called to say my case was closed. I highly recommend Spencer Evans as a tax attorney that has been effective working with the IRS on my tax issues. I had trust fund payments and civil penalties that I had been trying to take care of on my own since 2009 with no resolution. During this time, I had money taken from my bank account, money withheld from my Social Security and was very stressed out. In 2014, I turned everything over to Spencer and the end result is an Offer and Compromise was accepted, 2 tax liens were released, no more money taken from my bank account or from Social Security.
