Brian has been exceptional in helping me through my process of recovery, trials and tribulations. He communicates clearly and makes things very easy to understand. I hired Scott after I was rear-ended on the freeway and my car was totaled. I was driving with 5 children in the car. The driver admitted fault, the police determined it was his fault and Progressive admitted it was his fault. The at fault driver was fully insured. Scott was able to negotiate an $18,000 settlement. Out of this settlement three of my medical bills were paid, along with Scott. I received the remainder. When all was said and done I got a check for $6,042, and Scott got a check for $6,000. Scott was very adamant to point out I received $42 more than him. The same day I received my settlement, I got a call from the chiropractor who treated my children. The settlement did not include paying the medical bills for my children. It did not include paying for my MRI or therapy bills, additional car rental or other expenses incurred. I paid for everything out of pocket, except for the kids medical bills. The chiropractor assured me the insurance would cover it. Progressive assured me insurance would cover it, and Scott conveniently left this part of the settlement unsaid. Everything was sent directly to the lawyer and I never even saw the medical bills until the settlement was over. After all is said and I done, I still have excess bills in the amount of $5,000 and counting. This means after my settlement I am left with essentially nothing. Scott speaks with very gentle tone and tells you what you want to hear. When I confronted him about it, he yelled at me and told me I was dishonest for saying he got paid more than I did. Here's the math Scott: $6,000 Me: $6,042 - $5000 = $1,042 Scott keeps telling me I got a better deal this way. Does anyone else see it this way? The irony is that Progressive offered to settle with me without a lawyer. They offered me $5500 and to pay my medical bills.
