We worked with Spencer when he was first out of law school because we knew him personally and trusted him in our personal lives, so naturally we'd trust him in our legal lives. We weren't disappointed. From the first emotional meeting until the ultimate conclusion; Spencer was a voice of reason, honest, hard-working, kind, and an ethical professional. That bring us to now. We find ourselves in the unfortunate situation of needing to retain him once again. We have a difficult situation, as do most of us, and we need his straight approach to build our expectations into a situation best for all involved. No fluff, just answers that properly weigh your time & effort with outcome & cost. I not only thank Spencer for helping us work through the legal side of family law, but also helping us emotionally prepare for a practical outcome by virtue of Spencer being a good human and lawyer. Hopefully we'll never need him again, but won't hesitate to call him in the future.

I worked with Camille Mackay on my divorce, and she was extremely helpful. She was quick to respond to emails and phone calls whenever I had questions, and she was good at explaining the technical language included in my divorce documents. She helped advocate for the things that were important to me, and she communicated well with the other attorneys that were working on my case.

From the beginning Spencer has been 100% committed to my case. He took my case quickly not knowing what he would be getting himself into. He has always acted fast and was always on top of his game at all times. Liz his paralegal has always been so friendly and great when It came to responding to emails and gathering evidence. He thinks with a reasonable head and helped me understand why some of my requests weren’t very reasonable and always had a second best alternative he knew a judge would go for. He likes to get a case settled. Not drag on for months to years. Because of Spencer and Liz I now feel at ease. We worked with Spencer Ricks for our surrogacy journey and he has been amazing! Always quick to respond and easy to talk to. He helped make the legal part of the process great and enjoyable. I really felt like he was working for my best interests and not just for a paycheck.

I’ve worked with Spencer Ricks, for 2 contracts associated with surrogacy. The first contract, was a same state surrogate and IP’s contract. That ended up being voided, due to the transfer not working. 2 months later, I got back in touch with Spencer, asking if he would be my lawyer for an international surrogacy journey. I wasn’t sure if he did any international, but he wrote back saying he does, and that he would be happy to represent me through this. We were in a pretty big time crunch, since my IP’s were wanting to start everything at the beginning of the year, and the holidays were approaching quickly. Spencer did a great job at going through the contract, keeping me on top of everything while I waited for his side before I could do mine, as well as keeping me informed on my IP’s lawyers and how they were responding. I would totally recommend him! I haven’t worked with his outside of surrogacy, but he does a very good job at the surrogates discretion.
