Never hired a lawyer before and David was able to get me through a very hard time. David really does care about his clients and will work very hard on your behalf.

I know I am not 'suppose to say this' but had David Shoen been my attorney, I am sure results would have been so different. Due to be being so harmed by a surgeon, I just knew I was about to become so sick and did so I was desperate to beat the clock, I signed with some horrid lawyer, who had no clue about med. mal. so instead he would just insult the victum. When I spoke with David, it was already too late for me I was already signed and some scary lawyer who was clueless. David Schoen instead of just having me sign, no on the phone he was questioning me in the right way, also a little smart humor, not just about to have me sign on the line, or get involved with a client who was he didn't believe in. He had moved to VT right around the time I found him on Avvo. VT you are lucky to have a David Ian Schoen, Esq., a real lawyer in the best way.

I am a registered nurse who was injured many years ago in a motor vehicle accident. Although I had known David at the time, I did not realize he was a personal injury attorney and on the advice of another nurse, initially brought my case to a different attorney. After two years that attorney told me that the insurance company was offering me $7,500.00 and that I should take it. Since I had neck and back pain on a daily basis that interfered with my job as well as activities at home, I did not feel that this was sufficient to compensate me, as I feared becoming permanently disabled from work at some point in the future. I felt pressured to settle and so I sought out other attorneys. I spoke to David who believed that my case should be worth significantly more and that he would do whatever he could to get me the best offer possible. After completely reworking the case, he took it to trial and incurred substancial expense to bring in the testimony of all of my doctors. After increasing their offer each day of the trial the insurance company finally offered $300,000.00 and we settled the case. Obviously, I was thrilled that I received this settlement, given the opinion of my first attorney, but I was particularly impressed by the way David displayed immediate confidence in my claim and then made the result happen through sheer effort and compassion. I would highly recommend this attorney not only for his professionalism and expertise but also for his sincere compassion extended to me during a very difficult time of my life.

My husband and I are both research scientists, were employed full time and as a result had to place our then 2 year old child in daycare, where she lost the tip of her finger. None of the defendants was willing to compensate our daughter a reasonable amount until the matter went to the first trial, when 2 of the 3 defendant’s settled. After an appeal was taken from the first verdict, we had a second trial against the last defendant and Mr. Schoen obtained a jury verdict in our daughter’s favor of $450,000. Having spent every day during the 2 trials with Mr. Schoen as well as meeting with him numerous times to discuss our concerns, we were enormously impressed by not only his tremendous skills as an attorney, but his persistence, will to win, tireless efforts as well as his personal concern for our daughter’s well-being and desire to get her the best result possible, regardless of the amount of time, money and risk it took to achieve this result. Unfortunately he resides in VT, and -upon hearing and comprehending the disparities involve-continued to attempt help; to the point when even at a time during which it seemed nothing could be done, merely knowing he'd re-instated some of my faith in the humanitarianism of the law.
