Wow. Where to begin with my experience at this law firm?
I'm not sure if these positive reviews are "fake" as some others have noted, or, if in fact, they are "real" and those individuals were the lucky ones. What I have realized since reflecting upon this is that all I can do is share my honest experience with others - as the saying goes, "Your mileage may vary" but for whatever it may be worth to anyone reading this, please know that what I am about to write is an accurate and honest representation of my experience as a client at Spiggle .I contacted them a few years ago as I was being targeted at my now prior job for dismissal. Mr. M. and I spoke and he convinced me that I had a viable case. Mr. M. was also the first of THREE lawyers that I had as a client while at Spiggle. Yes, you read that right. 3 lawyers.
Mr. M. drafted a demand letter. I later learned that Mr. M. had left, and my new attorney Ms. Y would now be taking over my case. She had a staggering lack of communication with me. I was forced to make repeated calls. I was unable to leave a voicemail. My emails mostly went unanswered by her.
Later I received a letter letting me know that Ms. Y was no longer with the firm. I then received a letter from Mr. Mundaca who recommended Ms. R to me. Ms R and myself attempted mediation w/EEOC. The mediation was not successful but later, a dollar amount was agreed upon. Ms. R failed in her capacity as my lawyer to tell me at the time that a written email agreement between the two parties is not "legally binding" - she only informed me of this AFTER I accepted the offer. We had a phone call after which I received two emails from Ms. R (which I still have) wherein she seemed to be approximating the verbal equivalent of a "tantrum" for me DARING to not only disagree with her, but to also judge her abilities as my lawyer. As a paying client of the firm, I AM entitled to share my perspectives in a polite manner.
As anyone who has had workplace issues and as a result, then felt vulnerable and under emotional duress and abusive attacks, I was now being subjected to this a SECOND time, by my very own lawyer. The unbelievable irony in this does not escape me at all. I was actually paying for the "privilege" of being abused.
Ms. R inadvertently revealed during that phone call that she had NOT fully read the documentation provided as she claimed to be unaware of certain documents when I asked her. WOW. Really?!!
Then WHAT, pray tell, WAS she being paid FOR, exactly?!!
Mundaca took over after that, and all my communication was with him. There was an agreement to the settlement. He also sent a refund check for earlier over-billing incurred from the time Ms. Y was my attorney. Several months later, long after the fact of me receiving the settlement, I received a phone call from the EEOC asking about "what" the "status" of my case was. I tried my best to explain it all and was informed that it was the responsibility of my attorney to notify the EEOC of the outcome which they did NOT do. EEOC person said: "It's the fault of your attorney. They were supposed to do this for you." This person informed me that she had spoken to other clients of Spiggle who shared with her similar issues like that ones that I had experienced with them.
She said: "My impression is that their firm has a high turn over rate" - well, that was definitely MY nightmarish experience with them, to be sure. I will say that only AFTER Mr. M stepped in did I receive any resolution on my case. 3 years. Thousands of dollars. Anxiety. Disrespect. Egregious conduct in overbilling. I came to the firm as a trusting individual hoping to receive help. Instead, I feel as if I was taken advantage of a SECOND time - by the law firm that I entrusted to help me. I am writing this review so that others may read my words and make an informed decision on their own. I can not even begin to say how very much I regret my decision to contract with Spiggle for help.
I have been writing this review for close to an hour. Who do I bill?

I worked with April Fearnley when considering a separation agreement with one company, and subsequently in considering an offer from another. April conducted a thorough document review and provided excellent advice that was very easy to understand. Working with her enabled me to confidently move forward in both situations.

BEWARE!! THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE!!
On August 8th 2022, I contacted The Spiggle Law firm to help with proceeding with a case from my previous employer. I received a consultation the following day.
On August 12th 2022, there was a strategy conference scheduled. Where I decided that I would have The Spiggle Law firm represent me in my wrongful termination case.
On August 15th 2022, a contingency retainer was signed by both the law firm and I.
I was then assigned an attorney (Ashley Collette) from the firm, whom I spoke with on many occasions. As well as multiple paralegals.
On August 16th 2022, Ashley contacted me via email to proceed with gathering information to build our case against my previous employer.
To which she then contacted witnesses, I provided significant evidence, and my police report.
Ashley as well as the managing attorney felt my case was strong given the evidence, time, and witness statement. (This is correlated via email)
After all information was gathered, I was told I would receive a call back providing further steps to take.
Time has now gone by and I haven’t received an update from Ashley, the firm or my paralegal.
On Sept 18th 2022, I reached out to Ashley via email as well as I called the firm with no response.
I later received a response on Sept 22 2022, from Ashley stating that she was finishing up our demand letter and further steps after wards. That I would be receiving a call.
Time has went on it is now Oct 15 2022, and I am reaching out to the firm AGAIN!! *Its almost like I should be getting paid to do the job* still no demand letter or anything typed up and we are at a standstill.
On October 17th 2022, Ashley had notified me via email that she was leaving the firm, that my case was being transferred to another Attorney but that she has sent a demand letter and provided me a copy. My new paralegal on my case was Lisbeth Rivera.
After replying to Ashley’s email I no longer heard from my newly assigned paralegal, nor was I ever assigned a new attorney.
I reached out on multiple occasions, via email and phone call. More than 10 times. Over the course of the next few months. Every time I spoke with someone over the phone it was relayed to me that someone would be in touch. (Never heard from anyone)!!!!!! I received no response to any emails that were sent.
Finally on February 22nd 2023, I got someone on the phone who I assumed knew about my case and further proceedings. Her name was Lauren Jordan.
She seemed very enthusiastic about helping me with my case as it has been MONTHS since hearing from someone. Letting me know she would call me back with answers as to why I wasn’t told that my newly assigned paralegal Lisbeth Rivera had also left this firm.
She call me and scheduled a conference call with Michael Knieling on February 24th 2023 for March 1st 2023 at 3:30 pm. To which Michael let me know the firm was no longer proceeding with my case as him and the other 2 attorneys felt that the case wasn’t worth the firms time. Stating you either “walk away with a check or you walk away with nothing.”
So now after almost a year, this firm has ran me around the block 101 times, left me with no answers. Sent a demand letter to my previous employer stating they were representing me! They let me know they are no longer proceeding with the case. This is 100% completely unprofessional. When a retainer was signed.
Please do your research before hiring this firm.
Any firm that is okay with taking on a case, stringing a client along for almost a year, and then dropping the case within the matter of 2 days because they reviewed the case and felt it wasn’t strong enough is no firm I would ever chose. When on August 15th 2022, the gentleman which also happened to be the Managing attorney said the case was strong.
It’s clear this firm has one motive in mind and if you aren’t bringing back a 100k+ settlement they want no parts.
Ashley was a great attorney, very motivated and was always positive/head strong.
100% chose a different law firm. This is not the one. 🙂

I highly recommend the Spiggle Law Firm. I needed help understanding a legal document. Tom Spiggle explained it in "plain English". He was very clear, friendly and approachable and by the end of our discussion, my mind was set at ease; and I had a clear understanding of the entire document. I never once felt like he needed to rush to his next client --- and I'm sure he has many based on the quality of his work!

These 5 star reviews must be fake.
Spoke with a woman on 2/7/23 at 2:10pm and was told after saying a little about my situation (for 10min) that after our phone conversation that I should receive an email with questions to answer.
Never received an email. Did I waste my breath?
Called again today at 12pm, both times no one is available.
