If you need an attorney, then hire Silis & Associates! Tom represented me in a family law matter, and I could not have been more pleased with him and his entire staff and the results they delivered. With any attorney, you worry (or at least I did) with whether they would overbill you, actually listen to your needs, call you back, and give you the right advice. We don’t usually hire attorneys for easy situations, so picking the right attorney is crucial. I’ve known people who hired an attorney that would give them the kind of advice to keep the case from settling, so they could increase their fees. That was not Tom at all. Tom and his entire team listened to my (many) needs, responded to every call or email, understood what was important for me, and gave me the right advice, and was extremely fair and completely transparent in all billing matters. A few months ago, I was falsely accused by my Condominium Association of violating some rules of the common areas of my Condominium building. I was very concerned about the false allegations made against me, so I started a search for a good lawyer and came across one of the best lawyers in town, Mr. Tom Silis. Prior to meeting Mr. Silis, I spoke with other lawyers and felt they were uncomfortable about representing me based on the false allegations I was being accused of in my building. When I met with Mr. Silis, he knew what I was going through and was very supportive. At the hearing, the truth was revealed. Mr. Silis spoke on my behalf, while I relaxed and watched him put on an outstanding representation against the Association that accused me of the allegations. He made them see how their allegations were weak, baseless and laughable. I saw the look on some of their faces during the meeting and they looked humiliated and defeated. Mr. Silis performance was so impressive, the Association ended the meeting and withdraw the case against me. I've dealt with lawyers before, but, Tom Silis is one of the best and most knowledgeable lawyers around! He's one of the top lawyers in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area and an ally forever.

I contracted Mr Silis to handle an issue with a very stubborn contractor who underperformed on a large pool refinishing. I was ready to file a lawsuit but Mr. Silis advised that he send a detailed letter to explain, in legal terms, why our case was so strong. Mr.Silis also followed up with a phone call to the contractor to explain our position. I believe Mr. Silis' cordial and calm manner helped the situation to be fully considered by the contractor. The contractor almost immediately responded that he would redo his work and correct all the issues at his expense. I appreciated very much the fact that Mr. Silis was not in a rush to file a lawsuit and we were able to settle the dispute without having to go to court. And honestly, I think that also served the contractor well. So Mr. Silis' expertise helped both parties in the dispute. I believe many attorneys would have chased the fees and filed the suit.

Thomas Silis is an exceptional and professional attorney. The initial documentation was easily accessible online as well as by walk in. The first conversation by phone and the follow up meeting was extraordinary. The amount of legal knowledge off hand showed his brilliance. He guided me how to obtain the documentation which could support my case. Tom was extremely knowledgeable, and compassionate during my highly contested child custody and divorce case. I have not needed a lawyer but a few times in my life. And in each instance after judgment had been passed I always wondered if my lawyer did all he could. They under promised and over delivered and this is ultimately what I felt from the beginning they would do.
