Ms. Ovando was both extremely knowledgeable and kind to us. She helped us navigate a difficult situation with our child in a thoughtful and thorough manner. We fully intend to use her again should be need her services, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others.

I hired Julia after paying for a consultation in which she was an hour and half late to. I should’ve seen this as a read flag but I was in an emergency situation. After speaking with her she seemed knowledgeable and helpful and caring. After agreeing to hire her and paying the fee I didn’t hear from her I emailed and called and would get text replies that she would call me back and nothing. She never sent the order of substitution to my previous attorney causing me to pay my other attorney even more in fees. By the time she actually replied I was 3 weeks away from my court date and could not find another attorney willing to take on my case with the limited time and holiday.

Julia was very good pleasant to talk to she walk me threw all paper work and made sure I new what I was signing on will power of attorney and medical power of attorney I’m 92 years old and she took the time with me she needed very nice lady thanks julia

We worked with Julia in regards to an issue with CPS for a child who has special needs. Unlike other lawyers, Julia had a calm and measured approach. In 2016, I found myself in need of a family law attorney. Someone who knew the Arlington County Juvenile Court system and would guide me through the process was key. Julia was always straight forward and KNOWS HER STUFF inside / out. Easily the best choice I made during the ordeal. In 2020, I found myself in need of family law a second time. To say disappointed is an understatement. If you have had a consultation already, don't be fooled into thinking that this lady will do her best for you. Please do yourself a favor and find an attorney that will do the work that you hired them to do unless you have money to waste. Retained Ms. Ovando and she has not returned my calls or email. She took my money and ran .

In mid-April, we contacted Ms. Ovando in hopes of hiring her for a Family Law case. We scheduled a consultation for Friday AM at 9:00. Ms. Ovando did not appear until after 10:00. Still, her excuse was credible, and my husband continued on with the meeting. It ended with her telling him that she would send a retainer notice and contract in the coming days. Since that time, both of us have called three or four times, and my husband emailed her additional information. We have not heard anything from her -- that she wants the case or doesn't want the case. Even a courtesy call from her paralegal telling us that she isn't interested in our case would be helpful. What is one supposed to do?

Julia was so helpful in providing me with advise on handling a very strange custody situation that involves immigration. She answered all my questions, and asked a lot also which was awesome. Even thought she had to run back to court I never felt rushed by her. When I need to hire a lawyer I will definitely be hiring Julia.

Nadie quería tomar mi caso pues yo exigía la custodia total de mi hijo de 5 años además de que me suspendieran los pagos de manutención de esposa ya que lo consideraba injusto, la señora Ovando no sólo saco de su tiempo para analizar mis pruebas para ambos casos también me lleno de confianza y fortaleza ya que mi matrimonio estaba irremediablemente destruido y a causa de todo esto me estaba afectando tanto en mi salud como sicológicamente. I have hired attorneys in the past but ms Ovando is by far the most compassionate and kind of all, and when I sow her by coincidence in the court house I immediately knew that she would be the one to handle my case. Ms. Ovando is very different - she is accessible, personable, dedicated and really looked after my interest! She is unlike any attorney I have ever met. She argued in favor of my children and I was awarded a favorable verdict. I'm very happy to have found her and I go to her on any legal issues I have.
